Ok, after spending about 40+ hours in this exciting room over the past 2 and half days, we are pumped with current results. So far, San Diego seems a lot like my basement though. 😁 Come see the #WoF demo @mmsmoa next week! This stuff is cool! @2pintsoftware @PatchMyPC

You have high standards for knowing where your pizza is. 🍕 Order received. In the oven. Out for delivery. At your door. Now you can expect the same transparency from your patches. With CVE Insights + Exposure Tracker, follow vulnerabilities from published to patched and know exactly where things stand along the way. Track your patches like you track your pizza.

Made a thing: wherethemlogs.app Type an app name, get where it writes its logs on Windows, macOS and Linux. 543 apps so far. There's also a no-key MCP server at wherethemlogs.app/api/mcp so agents can use it too. Free, no ads. #SysAdmin #MacAdmins #Intune #EndpointManagement

10% of computers in your EUC environment belong to Schrödinger and you can’t convince me otherwise. Do they exist? Do they not? Who knows. #euc problems # #laptopmanagement

More iteration, more building. Was fun learning about and setting up PocketID for auth. It's a nifty OIDC app, seems great for auth when you are testing that is #passwordless and doesn't require external providers or other infra. pocket-id.org/

This guy I work with wrote a really great blog on thinking about moving to Remote SUPs and when you should or shouldn't move. Also, sometimes, he runs far. thedaltonfarm.com/blog/movin… Credit to Chris. #configmgr #SoftwareUpdatePoint

I'm sick of people saying "we need to improve cyber defense NOW", but their answer is always AI. That's not going to magically fix things. I have a full video coming tomorrow, but here's a short rant.

You know…. Some of this is satire but the painful part is all the little grains of truth in here. Especially when you consider how many people work from home and the footprint of going after something like that at scale in people’s homes not just the corporate environment.
I got a Roomba added to our cybersecurity asset inventory. This happened because Facilities bought one for the executive floor. It was one of the expensive models with cameras, mapping, Wi-Fi, cloud connectivity, and enough sensors to perform a small military recon mission. They connected it to the corporate network. I noticed it during a device scan. Unknown Linux endpoint. A camera, microphone, constant outbound traffic. I asked Facilities what it was. They said: “The vacuum.” Security did not like this answer. The CISO asked whether the device could map executive offices. Yes. Could it store images? Probably. Could the vendor remotely access it? Technically. Within an hour, the Roomba had been unplugged and placed in a conference room like a detained suspect. Legal asked for the privacy policy. Procurement asked for the vendor contract. Security asked whether we could inspect the firmware. Facilities just wanted the floor cleaned. After two weeks of review, we approved it for use on an isolated IoT network with restricted outbound traffic. It now has an asset tag, a quarterly access review, and a documented decommissioning procedure. Last month it got stuck under the CFO's credenza and went offline. Our monitoring platform opened an alert. The ticket was assigned to me. Severity: Medium. I walked upstairs and rescued it. This is what digital transformation looks like.
