Truly innovative work here by Jordan Fletcher- check out these personalised 3D pelvic models which helped guide complex surgical decision making @StMarksHospital 👇
Enhancing decision-making and patient comprehension in complex rectal cancer surgery through personalized three-dimensional imaging: randomized feasibility study
➡️ doi.org/10.1093/bjs/znaf116
This study investigated the use of personalized three-dimensional (3D) models as a decision-making aid for patients undergoing pelvic exenteration for complex rectal cancer
The RCT found that patients who received 3D models alongside standard consultations experienced a greater reduction in decisional conflict and had higher agreement with surgeons on expected functional outcomes, indicating improved education and communication
While the 3D models enhanced understanding and emotional reassurance, their impact on decision-making varied, depending on case complexity and quality-of-life considerations

Doctors received offers for Radiology training posts at around 3-4pm. They were able to accept these offers on Oriel and received confirmation of acceptance. Offers then began to disappear on Oriel. At 6:30pm they received this email.
