What separates players at the very top is a high level of Football IQ. Impressive to see Gavi with such habits - someone so young making a difference already. Anticipation, Scan Direction, Frequency & timing 🧠⚽️ Top work as always @slawekmorawski 📽 via @m1ndfootball

What a fantastic example of collective quality outperforming individual quality. #Spain show how you can control the game and attack with the ball…but also how you manage and minimize spaces for #France supreme individual qualities. The ⚽️ is the reference #FIFAWorldCup

Some times the best laid tactical plans do not come off. Factors you cannot recreate/prepare (atmosphere, environment etc) take rule over all. In these moments it is character, togetherness & passion that gets you over the line. Great to see! 🦁 🦁 🦁 #FIFAWorldCup #ThreeLions

Couldn’t agree more with you @Zonal_Marking it was a joy to watch. Players playing with freedom, high levels of awareness and appreciation for space/time/team mates. If an alien came to earth & asked what is football, you’d make them watch that game! 👽 ⚽️ 🧠
Wonderful from Spain. Brilliant to watch. This is what this sport is all about: possession, technique and interplay overcoming a tried-and-failed brand of regaining the ball then having absolutely no idea what to do with it. A victory for football lovers around the world. Olé!

Has modern coaching become so Globalised that we've unintentionally begun replacing the players understanding with our own? Check out my article: "The Intelligent Footballer…why the @FIFAWorldCup reminds us that football belongs to the thinker (player)" linkedin.com/pulse/intellige…

The mind of the “Intelligent Footballer”: Intention 🧠 > Perception 👁️ > Deception 🪄 > Execution 🎯 The best do this on an automatic, consistent & fluid basis. “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” - Aristotle teapawt.net/Abc8fyz/status/2071673…

“Know yourself, before knowing others” Top stuff as always @DanAbrahams77 and great reminder about what leadership is.
What is leadership? Leadership is to influence… What do leaders need to influence? Engagement…Development…Performance Engagement: leaders need to help people engage in their work and with each other (as colleagues or teammates). They need to help them engage this moment; today; this week; this month; this year…for as long as they lead them. Development: leaders need to help their people develop - to learn and to grow. To learn as workers and to grow as people. Performance: leaders need to help their people high perform with consistency under pressure. They need to help their people have their best possible outcomes during their performance moments. Influence as a leader starts with self-skills… Self-awareness Self-control Self-reflection Self-development Self-acceptance The least funky of skills, but perhaps the most important, a sophisticated relationship with self-skills better helps leaders to influence the people they’re leading. To know oneself; to be in control of oneself; to develop oneself; and to know what to accept about oneself - these self skills help leaders shape their ability to influence themselves and those around them. ****************************** 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐬 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥. Ultimately players/athletes act on what they see\feel, not what we instruct. That’s the challenge in football as coaches - not just managing behaviors, we’re managing perceptions. @GuardiolaTweets masterclass in communication & managing attention/perception of the team
"Maybe I was confused." 😮‍💨 Throwback to this Pep Guardiola dressing room speech to the Man City players after a 2-0 loss to Southampton in the Carabao Cup in 2023. They won the treble that season. Arguably the best coach of all-time for a reason 🐐

A master of understanding the space around himself & finding the best solution @Thiago6 💡 Intention 🧠 > Perception 👁️ > Deception 🪄 > Execution 🎯 Top work as always @mfbnvideos ⚡️ Unfortunately finding this type of player in modern day is hard!, or not given freedom!
Thiago Alcántara was a player who set new standards in terms of game intelligence. The way he could scan space, receive the ball and manage information to achieve his goals, made his actions seem effortless. @Thiago6

Olise FINISH is pure class but it’s what happens at the START… Not letting context of game (time/score) dictate his decision - his intention before receiving is already made up…TO SCORE! Intention 🧠 > Perception 👁️> Deception 🪄 > Execution 🎯 #UCL

“I don’t think there is a system or style that guarantees you’ll win a final. But the journey is so much more fun done this way.” -@GuillemBalague spot on here! It is the journey not the outcome that people will remember for life. This is our WHY! #UCL
