*Rockland Daily Debate Proposal:* State Senate candidate Joe Rand thanks Rockland Daily for trying to arrange a debate between himself and Senator Bill Weber.
Boy, Bill Weber is getting desperate to run away from his vote against the Responsible Data Center Development Act of June 2026.
He's trying to blur the distinction between us by whining that I'm responsible for positions taken by my friend and supporter Andy Stewart when he was Orangetown Supervisor -- 15 years ago, and 10 years before I got into public office! He actually put out a press release about it!
To be clear:
1. I'm in favor of sensible protections against data center impacts on our community.
2. Bill voted against them.
3. Bill is running against me, not Andy.
He should just own his pro-center data position.
He took a vote.
Defend it.
Like, maybe in one of the debates he's ducking
Weber is trying to distract from his abysmal fundraising with a fake partisan poll from 2 months ago. If that poll was so strong, release the whole thing!
And let's debate!

Bill Weber’s claims that I must adopt every single policy position of every group or union that endorsed me.
I don’t.
He’s just projecting his own slavish obedience to his donors and endorsers onto me.
If he thinks he right, though, there’s a simple solution — debate me!
I hope you liked Bill Weber’s recent mailer, because YOU paid for it.
Yes, Senator Weber is using taxpayer money to send out “senatorial” mail — a month before the election.
This is technically legal, but it’s an abuse of the process.
Weber should pay for his own mailings.
Public disclosure Fundraising numbers are in for the months of July, August, and September, and they show that we clearly have the enthusiasm and momentum in this race — the Rand campaign raised 3x as much money from 9x as many in district donors as the Weber campaign.

Next week, municipalities across Rockland will be commemorating the 25th year since the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001. To help you find an event near you, we've designed a guide to all the events we could find. Please let me know of any corrections and we will revise the Guide.

WINNING THE GRASS ROOTS
Big campaign news this week: we significantly outraised Bill Weber again from individual donors, and dramatically outraised him from local grassroots donors in Rockland County.
Here are the results for the July report, which covered March-July:
* 52% more contributors overall.
* 64% more individual contributors.
* 31% more raised from individual contributors.
* 62% more Rockland donors.
* 129% (!!!)-- More than twice as much raised from Rockland donors.
Congratulations to my friend @YehudaZorger on his appointment as a Trustee to the Airmont Village Board. He will be a tremendous representative of the village and continue to be an asset to the entire community. I thank him for stepping up to serve!
