On this day in 1997 West Ham beat Chelsea 3-2 at Upton Park in front of 24,502. After Chelsea took the lead Julian Dicks and Paul Kitson turned the game around only for Chelsea to equalise in the 87th minute. Kitson would score again with the winner in the 90th minute.
