Time is ticking to apply for a fully funded PhD studentship in my group at @DurhamChemistry.
We're aiming to use organic chemistry to develop catalysts and sensors to rival enzymes.
Retweets please!

Meso-meso linked 18 and 36 porphyrin nanorings synthesised by template-directed synthesis. The 18-ring mimics the B850 ring in light-harvesting system 2 and exhibits efficient energy transfer between porphyrin units. Out now in @angew_chem onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…

Published in Science, we report a way to prepare fluorochemicals directly from fluorspar without HF.
2 years ago we thought this was impossible.
Made a reality thanks to our incredible team @Oxchemmike @BrowneGroup @GroupAldridge @Fluo_Rok @bobbypaton and lots of ball milling!
We are thrilled to share a new HF-free technology that converts fluorspar to fluorochemicals. Enormous congratulations to the amazing team of chemists who made this recurring dream a reality! science.org/doi/10.1126/scie… @CalumPatel @ScienceMagazine @OxfordChemistry @Fluo_Rok
Delighted to have been awarded one of the poster prizes, congrats to the other winners, and huge thanks to the judges + everyone else for a really enjoyable afternoon of chemistry!
Congratulations to our @pfizer Org Chem/Chem Bio Poster competition winners Diana, Jess, Josh, Benjamin, May and Ben! Thanks to judges @J_McGouran, @MorrillGroup, Jim Thomson and Ian Moses. Well done to all our participants @OxfordChemistry
