Nothing I write starts with the thought, "Oh, I can SELL that." (Though, that may explain a lot.) Whether short fiction, nonfiction, or even poetry, they all begin something I'd like to read. And I hope you might, too. Find my books on Amazon or TikTok Shop (links in reply)

I've been waiting to talk about #VisionQuest's penultimate ep. It mirrors #WandaVision & forces #MCU fans to reckon with #WandaMaximoff's death. It brilliantly conveys emotional and psychological experiences between human beings like great stories should. fandomrising.com/2026/11/03/…

So, no bullshit, I just had to do one of those CAPTCHAs where you identify the fire hydrants. The answer was 3, but I totally saw how #Ultron saw 5 in that episode of #VisionQuest. There were two shots of streets with what looked like hydrants WAAAY off in the distance.

In this one, I point to a surprising line from #StarTrek First Contact that I think deserves to be held up as one of sci-fi's best. Because #PatrickStewart and Brent Spiner made #Picard and Data's relationship one of the greats in the genre. cbr.com/star-trek-first-cont…

Personally, I love #StarTrekGenerations, and #PatrickStewart is fantastic in the film. It truly does forever settle the #Kirk vs. #Picard debate in a way that makes the most wishy-washy fans like myself very happy. cbr.com/star-trek-generation…

Of course, when it comes to performances, one of #PatrickStewart's favorite #StarTrekTNG episodes, "The Inner Light," must be mentioned. I wrote about why I think it is a true sci-fi masterpiece, and it's all down to Sir Patrick. cbr.com/star-trek-tng-patric…

Currently at CBR we're examining all the possible quotes, scenes, etc. from #StarTrek that deserve to be in the discussion for Sci-Fi's greatest. Here I talk about how #PatrickStewart makes "Yesterday's Enterprise" work beyond the alt reality gimmick. cbr.com/star-trek-tng-yester…

While we all know that #PatrickStewart crushed it in the best #StarTrekTNG episodes, he also crushed it in the less universally beloved ones. While this one focuses mostly on Spiner, Sir Patrick played this episode like it was Hamlet. cbr.com/star-trek-tng-brent-…

So, last one about #StarTrekPicard, and this looks at how #PatrickStewart's memoir makes Season 2 even more powerful because of the way the art imitates his life. It is truly a stunning season of TV because of his performance each week. cbr.com/patrick-stewart-memo…

In bed crying watching that Data and Picard song by Pogo I’m a mess lol. Genuinely, Patrick Stewart played a man on Star Trek I aspire to be, and what was so amazing is the real man wasn’t so far removed from the character. The universe feels darker without him.

One thing about #StarTrekPicard is that it pushed boundaries, both for this universe and #PatrickStewart as an actor. But it also delivered excellent moments of #StarTrek fan service. I talk about that balance here. cbr.com/star-trek-picard-kil…

At CBR I have a list of the best #StarTrek episodes featuring #PatrickStewart, and it could've been 190 entries long. One I left off was "Measure of a Man," but I wrote about why this episode is #StarTrekTNG's first truly great installment. cbr.com/best-data-star-trek-…

When talking about the great #StarTrek episodes with #PatrickStewart, obviously the "There are 4 lights!" ep. of #StarTrekTNG comes up. What you may not know is that episode almost didn't happen at all. I explain why this iconic moment was a lucky break. cbr.com/star-trek-the-next-g…

Of course, my favorite season of #StarTrekPicard is the final one which reunited #PatrickStewart with his #StarTrekTNG castmastes. It was a beautiful swan song for Jean-Luc Picard and a true gift to #StarTrek fans. More essays to come tomorrow. cbr.com/star-trek-picard-sea…

This one's another gut punch. If you have loved someone affected by this disease, you know the difficulty of the battle. The description of his journey is wonderful--they clearly fought hard for peace, love, and strength, and I hope that carries on for the people who loved him.

All of us at Marvel Studios are deeply saddened by the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. Sir Patrick brought Professor Charles Xavier to life with extraordinary grace, intelligence, and humanity, defining the character for generations of fans, from "X-Men" to "Logan" to "Avengers: Doomsday." He was a singular talent, a generous collaborator, and a true gentleman. Our hearts go out to his wife Sunny, his children, his friends, and the countless fans around the world whose lives he touched with his art.
