Finally, after months of work, I have submitted my #dissertation 📝🎉 I've loved researching functional #dysphagia as it's an emerging area in #SLT - which has also been quite challenging 💪 But today I could finally say goodbye and am one step closer to a career in SLT #SLT2B 🥳

Today was swallow awareness day, our SLT team organised a session for the team & clients. They made thickened mocktails & tried different IDDSI level snacks. They were given glasses to emulate what it’s like being fed with visual difficulties. #swallowaware2023 #nhweek

Sadly this is a common occurance which we see regularly as SLTs. We are not joking when we say no sandwiches. Getting dysphagia management right is the difference between life and death.

Sadly this was not an isolated incident, he was regularly given sandwiches at night, by numerous staff despite being on a puréed diet. The gulf between day and night shift!
