Another page, another writer, you might think. Well, I beg to differ, and so will most of my articles.
We Have Been Fooled diverges from some of the most popular narratives and myths that have hijacked public debates about our changing world and the impacts of digital technologies.
Free from ideologies, group identities, and commercial interests (other than paying my bills), We Have Been Fooled is mostly focused on trying to grasp the empirical reality.
Please subscribe if you’re looking for something beyond the immediate and “obvious” observations; because beneath these lie a deeper reality that contradicts much of what’s purported in the public discussions.

This shouldn’t even be a penalty Yamal is basically throwing himself onto to Digne’s foot. How can Digne avoid this contact? The rule should be changed.

So when the World Cup was in Qatar, we were all told we had to conduct ourselves in accordance with Islamic society. Now that the World Cup is being held in the West, we are still being told we need to conduct ourselves in accordance with Islamic values.

Imagine the reactions if someone said: “White people are brilliant and are the face of the world.” People would immediately think what an essentialist - and even racist - statement.

Differences between value systems depend on the conditions under which those systems emerge. Islam is incompatible with liberal, secular democracies on rational and sociological grounds alone.
