For nearly 16 months we have been showcasing AI Films across Arizona and found a regular home at Pollack Cinema. They have been an amazing supporter of new storytellers, and the experience AI Film 3 has built to provide to the public. Three years ago, the journey of @AI_film_3 began as a project born from my love for my daughter. At the age of 14 months, my daughter suffered a brain hemorrhage as a result of a vaccine reaction. She lost use of fine motor skills... yet her mind remains sharp and brilliant. With the development of generative AI, I took these tools to my daughter and let her explore. As she typed her prompts, her emotion and voice appeared in images I had no idea she thought or felt. This was her voice. I began this festival to celebrate, bring awareness, and empower others. AI allows the mind to go where the hands cannot. Now three years later, we are going strong in many new ways continuing the work of advocating for new voices and building adoption of AI through storytelling and empowering people to tell stories. We are doing work with non-profits to support communities, reaching out to educators, legislators, and parents, providing free workshops, meetups, and educational engagements such as artistic exhibits with the @MesaArtsCenter, educational engagements with @ASU students and program directors, and weekly hosted events at our downtown Phoenix location. Currently we have been given an opportunity to join season 7 with @Artizen, a community-driven fundraising platform that connects creators with backers to fund innovative projects at the intersection of art, science, technology, and culture. Its mission is to give communities a direct way to support ideas they believe in, while using match funding and prize pools from sponsors to amplify impact.
