It's about time one of us big uglies got a bigger picture in the paper than a quarterback!
But if you ever watched me and @drewbrees play football, you'll know why he won a gold jacket while I won a black robe 😂
Fun Fact: I've name-checked @normmacdonald in one of my SCOTX opinions.
Happy birthday to @normmacdonald: an old chunk of coal, the Chairman of the Bored, and the best who ever did it.

Good catch! Professor Dan Meltzer was indeed a "hum a few bars" guy, and so was Professor Charles Fried.
Add mass, bro!
Thanks to @Bumgarner4HD63 and @MindyForTexas for having me out to the ranch last night and introducing some good neighbors in Denton County.

It’s been a long while since someone has picked me up! Judge Sully ain’t skipping leg day, yall!
And at $3.65 for a cheeseburger, I bet you can’t eat just one. I know I can’t.
P Terry's is a burger chain started in Austin, TX started by a husband and wife in 2005.
They do ~$200m a year now. Each location is $3 million to $6 million in annual sales.
In 2016 the couple took their first big dividend from the biz.
"We took a little less than 10 million out. That's the only money we've ever taken out in all these years at P. Terry's, in 21 years."
The founders seem like great people. They do interest free loans with employees, profit sharing, and a bunch of other cool stuff.

Before he was Governor Abbott or Attorney General Abbott, he was Justice Abbott on the Texas Supreme Court. So he has long understood the importance of the statutory text that survives bicameralism and is presented for the Governor's signature.
I also had the honor of getting my picture made with Colonel Freeman Martin of @TxDPS, Deputy Sheriff Mattie Provost of @FBCSO, and Officer J. Perricone of @Austin_Police. Law-enforcement professionals like these represent the very best of us.
One honoree was K9 Andor of @WacoPolice -- a very good boy. K9 Andor, who has personally apprehended 42 suspects, was shot 3 times while subduing a dangerous armed criminal, yet he continues to serve his community by visiting Texas schoolchildren in his well-deserved retirement.
Last week, @GregAbbott_TX marked the 25th anniversary of 9/11 at the Star of Texas Awards, which honor first responders who've been injured or killed in the line of duty. Every Texan owes a debt of gratitude to these brave men and women who uphold the rule of law.
I concur!
Texas and SCOTX need @JudgeSullyTX to win in November so that he remains on the Court for at least six more years. Give him a follow and give this interview a listen to learn about one of the best to ever serve on SCOTX.
I enjoyed chopping it up with @bwaltens about the work we do for everyone in the Lone Star State down at the Texas Supreme Court.

"Why does Rice play [Notre Dame]? Not because it is easy, but because it is haaahd." - JFK
Without us Rice nerds, America wouldn't have put the first man on the moon.
Peck 'Em Owls!!
This interview isn't just for my appellate nerds. It's for everyone. Coming Sunday.
What a summer for Alesondra Osuch! She finished a clerkship in my chambers, started a clerkship with Judge Kernodle, and (most importantly) got married to Matthew, her sweetheart from Notre Dame Law School.
