An estimated one in six teenagers in the United States have moderate to severe anxiety symptoms, according to a new study published in JAMA Pediatrics on Monday. Our annual conference will take place November 6 in the St. Cloud area and online, featuring a live conversation about the Healing Minnesota report, moderated by Angela Davis, host of MPR News with Angela Davis. Panelists Farhiya Iman of the Central Minnesota Community Foundation, Maria Cervantes of Raíces Sagradas Community Mental Health, and Darcie Davis-Gage, director of the BCBS of Minnesota Center for Rural Behavioral Health, will discuss community experiences, mental health needs, inequities, and opportunities for healing across Minnesota. The conference is open to people interested in mental health, including individuals with lived experience, family members, mental health professionals, advocates, and community leaders. Eligible professionals can earn six hours of continuing education credit recognized by the Minnesota boards of Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Behavioral Health and Therapy, and Psychology.
