It’s Navy week. In 1926, Knute Rockne skipped @NDfootball’s game at Carnegie Tech to scout Navy before the teams’ first meeting in 1927. Navy tied Army and finished unbeaten. In his absence, the Irish lost, 19–0. Even Rockne occasionally had a bad Saturday. ☘️
102 years ago today, just a week after Grantland Rice named Notre Dame's Four Horsemen, @NDFootball shut out Princeton, 12–0. "Sleepy Jim" Crowley scored both TDs as Rockne's Irish marched toward a perfect season and the 1924 national championship. ☘️
49 years ago this week, @NDFootball made history. @JoeMontana and the No. 11 Irish stunned No. 5 USC by emerging in green jerseys, and then crushed the Trojans 49–19. The 1977 Green Jersey Game became legendary, and ND went on to win the national championship. ☘️ #GoIrish

217 pass attempts. Two sacks. @NDFootball’s nation-leading 0.91% sack rate is in historic territory. Five regular-season games remain, but through seven, the Irish have set a remarkable pace.☘️
On this date in 2005, @Brady_Quinn threw six TD passes in @NDFootball's 49–23 win over BYU, tying the school record. Jeff Samardzija caught two, extending his streak of games with a TD reception to seven.☘️
BYU's Justin Kirkland laughed about deliberately using an illegal fake snap count that disrupted Notre Dame's play and contributed to a fumble, then lying to the officials about it. Bad enough. But watching the interviewers laugh along was absolutely cringeworthy. Hilarious.

☘️@NDFootball's first loss in 399 days came against a BYU team that earned its victory. The officiating controversy deserves scrutiny, and the Irish have plenty to address. But championship dreams are intact. My morning- after take.🔗 ⬇️
Instant reaction to @NDFootball's first loss in 399 days. And yes, there's now a clock controversy, but no excuses. BYU earned it. Bachmeier was terrific. If we expect our team to play like champions, we should handle defeat like champions, too.
That's a Morning After Wrap.☘️
That's a wrap. Notre Dame 24, BYU 28. A heartbreaker.
6-1. Phil's quick breakdown.

A Bear that does it all, Traore targeting and lost fumble near the goal line combined with with two missed TD throws by Carr and the Irish are under big time pressure for the first time in 2026. ☘️
Carr 4-6 38 yards. His two misses were overthrows to otherwise open receivers: Faison in the endzone and the back shoulder to Gilbert. He may be just a bit amped up. ☘️
Spencer Porath now 8-9 on FGs. You sense the offense will move the football tonight, the defense needs to regain their footing on this next drive, without Boubacore Traore. Rodney Dunham, this is your moment.
