I think the Tom Cruise Digger movie is going to flop at the box office.
There is a lot of marketing out there for it but if you ask someone what the movie is about they will be familiar but will struggle to tell you. Not a good sign.
Good dog training is about training the dog well.
Great dog training is about training the dog owner well.
Cybercab is by all accounts a revolutionary product and they simply just botched the font- which is a great fit for cybertruck but doesn’t match the more feminine design and feel of cybercab at all.

I just fixed my dishwasher with the help of ChatGPT. A trivial task. I had been about to order a new one. So this software has increased the country's real wealth yet decreased the measured GDP. The main economic indicator is structurally incapable of registering the thing that actually makes people better off, namely the growth of knowledge

Dr. Mike Israetel on the economic fallacy he says explains why AI won't cause mass unemployment:
"Once we have 4 billion robots doing labor in the world, which we're like orders of magnitude off of that currently, then we've just only doubled the human workforce."
"From 1700 to today, we've 10 or 20x'd the human labor force. And, seemingly, the economy's not like, ah, we don't need any more people, that's enough. We could just consistently have better jobs and pay people even more money."
"This idea that robots are gonna show up and all of a sudden we're all completely unemployed makes a technical fallacy in economics called lump of labor fallacy. It's the idea that all the jobs currently are the only jobs that could be."

David Friedberg on the Nonprofit Scam: 90% Are Bullsh*t
“ The definition of exempt activities is charitable, religious, educational, scientific, literacy, public safety, or fostering amateur sports competition, or preventing cruelty to children or animals.
You tell me how the f**k 90% of what we call nonprofits today fall under that definition.
We have completely f**king closed our eyes to the fact that organizations, regardless of political affiliation or social interest, have fundamental commercial and probably not aligned interests with the definition of a 501(c)(3), and we've allowed them all to get away with it for far too long.
I don't think that this is a blue or red thing.
I think that this is a thing where we let these organizations make it easy to get money, to hide the money, and to do whatever the hell they want with the money, and we need to stop it.
And I think that it's an amazing opportunity right now for everyone to kind of reset the decks by cleaning all the sh*t up, and getting all of these organizations flushed, and make sure that any organization that wants to do whatever bullsh*t, nefarious things they want to do, by all means do it.
But it's not a nonprofit and you shouldn't get a charitable donation deduction, and the government should not be putting money into these sorts of things.
This is an entirely different sort of activity in the social order.
And as a libertarian, I'm all for it, but I don't think that they should be tax exempt, and I don't think they should be getting government money, and I don't think that individuals should be benefiting from giving them money.
And if we could fix all that shit up, I think a lot of these problems are going to go away.”
How do I ensure I never see a piece of Pokémon card content ever again? Or any collectible for that matter.
Hey @ilyasut I was thinking about this term ‘safe superintelligence’ and can’t help but think it’s an oxymoron.
A ‘safe knife’ is simply a dull knife that is not sufficiently powerful enough to fulfill its job.
So won’t ASI either be dangerous or dulled in the name of safety?
