Edmonton Oilers are you listening 🙏
"Perfection is impossible. In the 1,526 singles matches I played in my career, I won almost 80% of those matches. But what percentage of points did I win? 54% In other words, even top ranked tennis players win barely more than half the points they play. When you lose ever second point on average, you learn not to dwell on every shot. You teach yourself to think: 'Okay, I double faulted...it's only a point.' 'Okay, I came to the net and I got passed again...it's only a point.' Even a great shot, an overhead backhand smash that ends up on ESPN's top 10 playlist – that too is just a point. Here's why I'm telling you this. When you're playing a point, it has to be the most important thing in the world. And it is. But when it's behind you, it's behind you. This mindset is crucial – because it frees you to fully commit to the next point with intensity, clarity, and focus." –@rogerfederer

Yes, her name is Nguyen Nguyen. My grade 6 classmate that sat in front of me. She never spoke to anyone. Not even the teacher. I mean, EVER. But she was brilliant & never needed help with anything. We would walk to school together, & even then—not a single word. Then one day…
Do you ever randomly think about someone from your past and think, “I hope you’re well, wherever you are”?

That’s a wrap on Aaliyah Edwards’ collegiate career. She made her entire country so proud, and will continue to as she goes pro in the WNBA 🇨🇦❤️

Two things can be true. She threw the elbow a little bit. And it shouldn’t have been called a foul. The conspiracy theorists are a lot, though. #MarchMadness

19-year-old Lane Hinkley: “Too many hits, too many punches, too many concussions that I didn’t properly heal from. The doctor said my MRI showed there is a 25mm by 17mm lesion on my brain… Currently, I am at risk for CTE and early dementia.” (Hinkley has had 14 fights over the past 4 QMJHL seasons, according to Hockeyfights.com. Also, researchers have found the more hits to the head a player receives — even subconcussive ones, which aren’t usually tracked — the more likely they are to develop neurological problems.)
On Monday, defensemen Lane Hinkley announced his retirement from hockey due to medical reasons. 📄 chl.ca/lhjmq-islanders/artic…

Happy 7 year anniversary to this classic Halloween photo. It feels like it was just yesterday when I walked into the newsroom and not a single person was wearing a costume but me.
When you're the only person in the newsroom wearing a Halloween costume.
