Here's a snippet of one of my recent YouTube video edits for a programming channel 💻
What do you think about the result?
Tried to maintain the color brand and give it a minimalistic look without too many distractions since the primary focus should go on the concepts explained
A recent graphic animation made for a programming explainer video!

📈 Day 1 of growing a following as a Video Editor.
We just surpassed 16K followers on Instagram and 4K on TikTok, and as a "thanks" to all of you who are supporting me on the other side of the screen, I wanted to take a moment to analyze what got us here in the first place and share it with you.
↓ Let me give you some insights so you can apply them, too!
I will continue posting this series weekly on all platforms so you can learn the same things I do over time.
And for the ones who love reading - Let's break down the video and some of the insights I learned these past weeks from posting Reels on Instagram as someone who loves video editing and content.
Here are the top 3:
✦ - Copy What Already Worked for Other Accounts:
I get it. Sometimes, we believe that we can do everything by ourselves and that everything that resonates with us will resonate with everyone else, but most of the time, the Instagram algorithm doesn't give a f$*ck about what you like but what it works.
In the beginning, copy other ideas that performed well in the past, test them, and give them your unique spin. You could change the script or even the video style.
Give it a try. I'm sure you will see some results. (You can always try unique ideas and innovate in the future)
✦ - Quality > Quantity
You probably saw a ton of people on social media telling you to "stay consistent" to "post every day" or to upload "X amount of reels per day".
Let me tell you, this is good advice for someone who already has a following but not for new accounts.
You want to create ONE really good piece of content at a time. Re-watch it, re-edit it, analyze what could be improved, or ask a friend or a follower for his honest opinion on your content.
TDLR: Focus on creating one really good piece of content at a time rather than thousands of "meh" content. You can increase the output further in the process.
✦ - Finally, a great hook, a concise script, and a clear CTA.
Hook your viewers in the first 3 seconds with sounds, visuals, or a crazy or catchy intro phrase.
Keep your script on point. Most users just want the value of your video's information, entertainment, or inspiration. (Keep your personal POV for the future once you have an established personal brand).
Finish the video with a clear CTA. It sounds crazy, but this simple tip increases the action rate like no other.
🙌 And in honor of the last phrase on this tweet: Make sure to follow me @JulianByte
I'll be posting more and more tweets regarding video editing, content creation, and marketing!
