Edible peptides became a billion-dollar opportunity. How pharma engineers them to survive your stomach, why a quarter of users quit within a year, and why the answer might be "algae" or "chocolate."

Bio is having its China moment. Just booked flights to join & add a bit of California Peptide Club flavor. DM me if you're coming or are interested!
🏮Announcing the Lantern Summit in Shanghai🏮 In 2025, more new medicines launched first in China than anywhere else on Earth. That has never happened before. Drug development has two simultaneous accelerators: • AI is collapsing design (weeks instead of years). • China is collapsing development (physical iteration speed). Here is why that matters, and what Western biotech is missing: 🧵

Asking "What has AI enabled in biology so far" used to sound very smart at dinner parties. Not anymore - the bio-moment is here, especially when combined with intentional data collection
We built an 8000 sqft. high-throughput wet-lab in 30 days, to solve molecular discovery - starting with pesticides. Most teams in drug-discovery don’t receive target-organism verification until clinical trials. Pesticides allow us to rapidly validate our model in the target organism directly. With the help of our high-throughput lab, we were able to generate compounds that killed a $13 billion pest, the Fall Armyworm. We believe that the bitter lesson is coming for biology.

Natura has a lot of the ingredients needed to succeed: - underpricing Oura for health and pocket for recording - outcompeting other wearables on design metrics - allowing you to control your "agents" (what does that mean exactly?) - early adopters share their link (look at me!) to advance on the waitlist - viral loops Now I just hope it doesn't become an Omi or Rabbit
Introducing Interface, the primary hardware for the agent era. Interface lets you control all your agents from your hand. $99 for early adopters. Ships in January.

SF is a bubble - I’m leaving a lot to go to Shanghai, Shenzhen, NYC, Austin, London this fall
I left Silicon Valley 6 years ago Why? Because it's a monoculture The most extreme group think of any place on the planet Show up to a dinner party and everyone is in tech So what do they do? They start stack-ranking each other And it's a totally ordered set: being founder of co $100B market cap > founder of co with $50B market cap > managing partner of tier 1 venture firm > hired CEO of $50B public co > founder of $10B co > etc etc Pure toxicity that nerfs creativty And then as a corollary, people are especially afraid to speak truth to power as everyone knows their place in "The Hierarchy" Reject this nonsense. Stay weird. Think independently. Be honest with yourself. Have fun.

This should take off. Omics at home would be the 8sleep of the next decade Just last week I was talking on a pod + over dinner about prototyping this and @cheyava_falls goes out here launching it. Congrats!
Excited to release our first @deleon_bio blog post (link in thread)! Over the past year, Deleon Bio has reinvented how omics can be done (...daily-omics...daily-on...deleon...). We decided to stop keeping it to ourselves. Our advancements in low-cost sampling have allowed, for the first time, a scalable platform at a time resolution that will actually matter to people, every single day. Thousands of daily samples from volunteers gave us the backbone we needed to benchmark our capabilities. All our breakthroughs these past 12 months have come from hardcore science, engineering, and AI research. Helping consumers is still a step along that path, and the thing that makes all this worth it in the end. But we have to get there faster. That's why we’re doubling down on data collection and scaling our models up! Over the next couple weeks we will be releasing more posts about our progress on AI models and our benchmarks.

The background story: They tried to do this in France, but regulations made it nearly impossible. Europe, wake up!
The statue of Prometheus is finally finished. It was cast in Paris, crossed the Atlantic, and was assembled at Starbase. It took us 100 days to go from nothing to this. People of the West, we have lived through an era devoid of dreams, devoid of destiny. But the time has come to reclaim our dream of antiquity. In a few months, we will start building a new city. It will be the most magnificent city in all of history. After all, the great dream of the West has always been to rebuild Rome. Come walk beside us in this endeavor. The world is waiting.

The easiest way to execute on this is to stack a couple of old books to start of with and experiment with the height!
I've been sleeping with the head of my bed raised for a while, and I'm surprised more people don't do it. Inclined bed therapy (IBT) helps with acid reflux, sleep apnea, airways, puffy face, etc. Basically, when you lie flat stomach acid can flow back up into your throat, and when you sleep you swallow less, so it stays there. Hence the burning, 3am wake-ups, coughing, etc. If you tilt the bed, the gravity keeps the acid in your stomach. A systemic review of 5 controlled trials found that IBT generally improved reflux symptoms and acid exposure. In another study of 52 people with obstructive sleep apnea, it helped reduce apnea events by 32%. Some people report less facial puffiness, but that's mostly anecdotal. I use an Avocado adjustable base to raise the head of my head and it's been extremely helpful.

Excited to welcome Lloyd on stage at the Peptide Club Austin this Sunday. Link to apply is below.
It's Demo Day! 12 weeks ago, RonanRx was an idea. Today we’re growing 57% week over week and building a full-stack pharmaceutical company. Fundraising was the easy part. Now we have to build the damn thing. This is where the real story starts.

First time on KLOW. KLOW is GHK-Cu (thus the blue color), KPV, and BPC-157 + TB-500 in 5:1:1:1 ratio. After the Wolverine stack (BLC-157 + TB-500) worked great for me, l’ll report how it changes my skin + gut health over 6 weeks.
