Under the lights, the crowd once roared, A warrior’s heart, a dream restored. Now stitched by pain, yet strong inside, No broken step can steal his stride. The surgeon’s hands may slow his run, But not the fire that’s just begun. Each scar a story, each wound a test, Each setback shaping his very best. He dreams of turf beneath his cleats, Of battles fought, of hard-won feats. Though healing’s road is long and steep, A champion’s promise he will keep. For even through trials, his spirit won’t bend This isn’t the finish, it’s only the bend. The game still calls, the fight’s not done, The best is ahead, he’s only begun.
