This is HUGE!
No embargo needed for @AACR publications deposited in PubMed Central - enabling compliance with the NIH public access policy without spending exorbitant open access fees.
You can read the AACR journals' policy here: aacrjournals.org/pages/open-… "The Author Accepted Manuscript is permitted to be deposited in PMC and made available to the public on or after the first online publication date of the Version of Record."
New paper alert! Our team published in @NatureComms
on MeiHMM - a hidden Markov model that identifies meiotic nondisjunction error types in chromosomal abnormalities, like Down Syndrome, without parental data! #ComputationalBiology @StJudeResearch

Kudos to @maud_maillard on her new paper in @jclinicalinvest! Our findings indicate NUDT5 is a key regulator of thiopurine metabolism, offering new insights into how cells strike the balance between de novo vs salvage purine synthesis.
Thiopurines for the treatment of cancer or autoimmune disease are limited by their toxicity.
@MaudMaillard @Junjyang @StJudeResearch identify germline NUDT5 variants that affect thiopurine metabolism and cytotoxicity in children with ALL, having implications for individualized thiopurine therapy.

Instead of listing my publications, as the year draws to an end, I want to put pressure on the commonplace assumption that productivity must always increase. Good research is disruptive and thinking time is central to high quality scholarship and necessary for disruptive research
Why is #ALL highly curable in #kids but carries a much worse prognosis in #adults?? Check out our new paper @JCO_ASCO describing genomics of age-related differences in ALL drug sensitivity @StJudeResearch @MDAndersonNews @UChicagoLeuk @NitinJainMD
Researchers identified distinct molecular subtypes of B-ALL that occur in different age groups explaining why cure rates vary between children and adults. The study suggests treatments should be tailored based on underlying molecular groups beyond age.

The stars are aligning (literally) for our paper to come out today 😂🌞 @jiyang_yu @StJudeResearch
By characterizing B-cells’ developmental stages, St. Jude scientists designed and tested a drug combination to effectively treat resistant B-cell leukemia and reduce side effects.

One of the highest honors and deeply grateful to all current and past trainees! And also gratitude to my own mentors, especially @mrelling – at Memphis, TN
Congratulations to @JunJYang, PhD, the St. Jude Postdoctoral Association Mentor of the Year Award winner. In a rich pool of nominees, Yang stood out among his peers for his work as a mentor, sponsor and coach, guiding early career scientists and researchers to paths of success.
Kudos to @maud_maillard for leading this important work, with colleagues around the world #Singapore #India #Guatemala @cyrineeliana @COGorg @getinvolvedchla @pgrnhub @mrelling – at Memphis, TN
Happy to share our latest work on mercaptopurine tolerance in patients with both TPMT and NUDT15 variants published in @JNCI_Now. Many thanks to collaborators all around the world, amazing PI @Junjyang, and patients!

Amazing story of a Nigerian pharmacist who identified issues in her health center, went through the literature for solutions, discovered PGx on her own, joined @PGRN, identified mentors, obtained a grant, wrote a paper, and conducted a PGx study at her hospital to help her people
Another PGRN member taking on a major leadership role, demonstrating the impact of pharmacogenomics in pharmacy education, research, and practice! Congrats Deanna. @pgrnhub
Welcome, Dean Deanna Kroetz!🎉
"I can’t wait to meet more of you in the coming days and weeks. Go Buckeyes!"
Be sure to say hi to our new dean around the college!
