🚨 BREAKING... The WORLD'S LARGEST cereal mill just EXPLODED in Iowa... The Quaker Oats plant in downtown Cedar Rapids was rocked by an explosion Saturday afternoon... followed by a fire with heavy black smoke and flames pouring out of the north side of the building. Calls came in at 4:44 PM. Firefighters found evidence of an explosion when they got there. Every available Cedar Rapids crew was sent... with backup from Marion, Hiawatha and Linn County. People nearby said they HEARD and FELT the blast. Traffic backed up on I-380. This plant processes over 2 MILLION pounds of oats EVERY DAY... Its a critical plant for farmers to offload their oat harvests in the USA & Canada. All workers are accounted for and no injuries were reported. But the cause is still under investigation, and nobody knows yet how much damage was done or what this means for production

Loyalty Is a Weapon, Not a Virtue Loyalty is sold as a noble thing. It is a demand that you keep endorsing their worst decisions so they never have to face the fact that you have withdrawn your approval. When you refuse, they reach for loyalty to turn your boundary into a moral failure on your part. The word loyalty did not begin as a description of equals freely choosing one another. It comes from Old French loialté, derived from Latin legalis—legal. It described someone who kept their obligations to a feudal lord. You stayed faithful to the person who held authority over you. That is still what it does today. Modern redefinitions are just a softer way to keep and push the same hierarchy. On X the pattern is obvious. Someone decides you owe them continued support. When you stop because you disagree, because their conduct crossed a line you will not defend, or because you are done performing, they brand you disloyal. Usually it arrives as a public quote-tweet or a “just asking questions” DM that suddenly has an audience. Your boundary becomes the offense. Loyalty does the work of making the real request (obey or be labeled disloyal) sound like a matter of moral principle rather than control. The hypocrisy is deliberate. The people who demand loyalty almost never extend it. They discard others the moment attention or usefulness fades. They pressure people in DMs. They overlook their own contradictions and public attacks. None of that counts as disloyalty. Only your refusal to keep endorsing them does. The double standard is not an accident. I do not want to be loyal. I do not think loyalty is a virtue. I would rather be honest. I would rather be consistent. I would rather keep my own judgment and decide for myself how, when, and to whom my support goes. Loyalty, as it is enforced, is a weapon. It arrives ready to make one-sided compliance sound respectable. Your refusal is treated as the character flaw. The person making the demand faces no equivalent test. Your standards do not require permission from anyone else’s vocabulary. You do not need to sign the contract loyalty assigns to decide whether someone’s actions still deserve your support or not. If their conduct has made continued alignment incompatible with your standards, the decision is and should be yours alone. Calling that a failure of loyalty is just a way to make forced obedience an easier pill to swallow. The people relying on that framing were never offering something mutual. They were making a one-way claim and expecting you to accept the label that comes with refusing it. I would rather be known for refusing this weapon than for carrying it.
