My values, my identity and my community are far more important to me than any individual election result. Regardless, it’s widely understood that I lost in my particular district for the same reasons this ad is repugnant, blatantly false, and incites even more violence against Jews.

They called it apartheid. The ballot box called them liars. Arab and Muslim parties are winning 17 seats in Israel’s parliament, the Knesset. Arab turnout was above 70% in town after town. Wait, I thought Zionists were racist, so how come these “racists” are giving parliamentary seats to Arabs and Muslims, who, in turn, came out to vote? Some villages hit 90% turnout.
They democratically participated and voted in a Zionist democratic system they believe in?
Arabs now hold about 14% of Israel’s parliament. Muslim MPs hold about 4% of Britain’s. Odd kind of apartheid, where the “oppressed” vote harder than London does.

Eight years ago, 11 Jews were killed and 6 injured while praying at Shabbat services at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh.
This senseless act of anti-Jewish terrorism should remind us that antisemitism is a form of domestic extremism that has no place in a democracy.
Sadly, Jewish institutions — including synagogues — must now spend $1 billion to provide the necessary security so a mass shooting like the one at Tree of Life doesn’t happen again.
Congress must pass my bipartisan Jewish American Security Act to help protect innocent people simply trying to pray.
May the memories of those we lost always be a blessing.

Part of the Democratic Party’s credibility problem is that too many politicians and pundits are asking voters to follow their lead on candidates who could literally be the difference between democracy and authoritarianism. Yet many of those same voices went all in for a guy with a Totenkopf and a long history of questionable behavior, and never fully apologized for it.
In a Trumpian move, they offered little accountability or self-reflection. They just stopped talking about it. And now they’re surprised people aren’t taking their opinions seriously.

I have spoken out against anti-Muslim hate in the Michigan Senate race. I will speak out just as loudly when the target is Jewish people.
Let me state a little-known fact: ISRAEL GETS LESS THAN 0.1 PERCENT OF THE FEDERAL BUDGET. That’s less than one tenth of a percent!
But there is an ad running that tells voters they can’t afford groceries because the United States gives so much money to Israel. In reality, the United States spends money in and on countries all around the world – but this ad singles out the Jewish state. The ad is as dangerous as it is dishonest.
You can disagree with how the United States spends money abroad. But telling hungry families that the Jewish state is the reason they are suffering is wrong and shameful.
Blaming Jews for people’s problems is an old story. Anybody who has read the last century of history knows where it leads. It is a dark pathway.
This ad is anti-Jewish hate and should come down immediately. Abdul El-Sayed should denounce it today.

No matter how much time passes, my heart still breaks for all those impacted eight years ago in the shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue.
Eleven beautiful souls were stolen from their families and their congregation. Six others were injured and an entire community was devastated. In remembering these hard moments, I am prouder than ever of my Jewish faith — I know that our community is strong, and that love will always overpower hate.
Everyone deserves the right to worship in peace and safety, and I’ll always fight for that future.

I'm waiting on the registrar in Albemarle for the new October numbers, but here are the numbers for Charlottesville/Prince Edward/Lynchburg.
These are really good numbers for Tom Perriello in VA-5. Super strong Cville registration (student precincts >2024), weak Liberty reg.
Tomorrow is a crucial day in VA-05: the voter registration deadline. Voters who haven't registered/updated their registration by tomorrow will have to cast a provisional ballot on Election Day through same-day registration. College students across the Commonwealth most commonly use this method of voting.
A key part of the Perriello campaign's strategy is registering these students to vote, but they (and of course registrars around the Commonwealth) are hoping they get a lot registered by the deadline. Perriello's built up an advantage relative to VA-05's electorate in 2025 by trying to get students registered at UVA & Longwood. There's no clear strategy as far as I am aware by the McGuire campaign to counteract with getting Liberty students registered, but Liberty's growing regardless so their voter registration is up as well, cutting into Perriello's advantage.
I'll be calling the registrars on Monday for results; the official ones aren't posted on the DoE website until the end of the month but they're always kind enough to let me know the current voter registration number when I call (God bless them).
VA-05 is somewhere between Tilt R and Tilt D; there is a decent chance that this race may not be callable on election night if it comes down to the same-day registration votes, which are not counted until 1 week after the election. Our talented call team is likely to run the math once the total number is posted (though not all of these SDRs will be counted, rejection rate varies by locality). We did this in VA HD-41 in 2023 at @CNalysis and VA HD-34 in 2025, making us the first to call those races.
