Today’s featured MAPB Legacy Fellow traveling to Washington DC is Rosie Chavez. Ms. Chavez is the aunt of Jacob Dominguez, who was killed by a San Jose police officer in 2017.
God had his hands on this from day one! The struggle, the pain and suffering a family has to go through and for the city to continue that pain for years by dragging S;&@! out. Disgraceful ! May Jacob now rest in peace.... #JusticeforJacobdominguez
The #SJPD killed #JacobDominguez in 2017. A civil jury found officer Pina liable for his unlawful killing. Rather than confront police violence, @CityofSanJose spent countless resources to appeal. It was disrespectful/desperate. They lost - ruling stands!

For importing thousands of doses of opioids, SJPOA Exec Joanne Segovia got a sentence of probation b/c prosecutor said she was an addict.
But under #prop36 if someone addicted consumed a small dosage of the drug she imported, they would face prison. 🤷🏾♂️

While California passes prop 36 to incarcerate our community members, they give probation to Joanne Segovia who used her position and the protection of the badge to commit acts that would have cost a person of color years of their life. Shameful. kqed.org/news/12023259/forme…

People with drug and alcohol problems have for years found refuge at a long-term homeless housing program known as Hillview Court in Milpitas. But for an alarming number of them, the promise of stability and support has led to death. hubs.la/Q02QxJLS0

@SupEllenberg is right in this quote - and voting against Tasers:
"Implementing a tool which has, as its sole purpose, incapacitation by inflicting high voltage is directly antithetical to this work and in my opinion is inhumane.”
Santa Clara County leaders may equip sheriff’s deputies with Tasers as uses of force trend downward. sanjosespotlight.com/santa-c…
