👇👇 We want recovery for Douglas County, not wasteful, damaging, busybody projects.
Douglas County families bear the financial burden of jail - they lose income when a family member can’t work, and they struggle to meet basic needs while paying fees. These are our neighbors. We need jail reform, not more jail space.

This community has been fighting about funding for the homeless shelter ($32-400k), sidewalk repairs ($10's mil), infrastructure maintenance ($10's mil), & a bunch of other stuff for a LONG TIME. And the County says there's no better use for $156 MILLION??? Uh huh.
Whenever you make a big purchase, you do the math, right? Over the next 20 years, this jail will cost us at least $156mil. That’s money that voters didn’t approve of, spent on a jail expansion we don’t need.

We are all called to do justice and that sometimes means having voices be heard. Have a look at how together we can have everyone’s voice heard. ⁦@JusticeForKS⁩ facebook.com/163518887010332…
