Meet Dessa, the most human voice you can talk to. Trained entirely on speech. Huge congrats to the Dessa research team here at Block, been playing with the model and it's unlike anything out there. Super excited to be helping bring this to life. App coming soon.

oh wow, I wonder why the government spent the past year removing facts and history from .gov sites that didn't suit their agenda... probably no reason.
So much of Airbnb’s success came from @jgebbia’s design brilliance. I’m delighted he brought those gifts to our government. Our country designed great buildings, but for most Americans, the front door to government is now a website. Starting today, that experience they will be beautiful, elegant, and human. Proud of you, Joe.

time to rewatch halt and catch fire
to build a cool product now, you really only need two ppl: one dude with exceptional vision & taste who knows what should exist & can provide the right feedback loops for iteration. & one dude who is absolutely relentless about making it real no matter what. that’s it. & sometimes these two are the same.

After a recent promo, @camworboys & co peer pressured me into drafting a few words about design. I joke as much as the next guy about making rectangles, but it's important (and humbling) to remember the impact we have on peoples lives. Here is an excerpt:

Rolling out some new interface experiments in Moneybot on @CashApp First one: Visual Prompts. We’re trying to move AI beyond chat UI. Chat assumes you know what to ask, then makes you read instead of just showing. Visual Prompts bring together context, visual interface, and actions around what matters most in the moment. A change in spending. An upcoming payment. A chance to save more. Goal is to feel more GUI than chatbot. Will report back what customers think.

Actions just got a lot easier in moneybot. Need to make a tweak? You can now make changes directly within cards. Our new version of action cards begin rolling out this week, only on @CashApp

we've been pouring a lot of love into all the little details and haptics. our design team paired closely with our engineers to ship each of the custom animations you'll begin to see across all action cards.

It’s so addictive to ship things. Like hell yeah let’s just make things just a tiny bit better everyday.

As we see more access to animating with code, always helpful to think about frankanollie.com/PhysicalAni… imo this is why apple's animation feel slightly more polished, the use of restrained versions of squash and stretch throughout iOS makes interactions feel tactile and physical.

Every day I’m in awe of our team here. What a joy it is, getting to see the cool shit we make in service of making fun things.
We built this custom app to dial in all the @CashApp Wand interactions. Pre AI this would’ve been a giant Slack essay accompanied by a completely unrealistic After Effects mp4. Now we just build it and share the GitHub.
