Derrick White on his shot:
“I feel good. I didn’t make every shot so obviously there are some things I’ve got to stay consistent with on every rep and just shoot it with confidence.”
White has made 12 of his 24 attempts this season (5-of-13 3PT)
Neemias Queta on his three-pointer Friday night:
“I’m used to being on the bench and guys celebrating in front of me, so to do that in front of them for once was nice. I’m hoping I get more.”
Joe Mazzulla on the back and forth between Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown:
“They were together for 10 years and they had great, great moments... So I think it's more just focusing on the greatness that those two are were to achieve, and the fact that they're both great people. They're different in how they play the game. They're different in how they handle things. They're just different. It doesn't mean that it's good or bad. They're just different. So you focus on the high character. We're focused on Jayson because he's with us. He plays for us. He's our guy. We're grateful for what Jaylen did in the past, but our focus is on Jayson. Who he is as a player, who he is as a person. But you never forget the gratitude and perspective of a former Celtic who has left this place in a better place.”

Jayson Tatum responds to Jaylen Brown's 'cap' comment: 'This ain’t no f—ing Shaq and Kobe'

More from this...
Is Jayson Tatum disappointed about the narrative surrounding him and Jaylen Brown?
"I’m not like blaming anybody for how they feel, right? Everybody is entitled to their own feelings, and we all go through different things in our lives. Just for me, I mean, all of y'all kind of saw us grow up and everything that we accomplished, and I don't want that to be in the rearview mirror of what's being talked about when it pertains to us two. It should be celebrated, right? Like how many people played in this league and never went to the Finals? We went twice and won a championship. So it should be more about that. This ain't no fucking Shaq and Kobe. There's no beef. It's not about that. It should be more praise, and I understand that doesn't necessarily sell. Drama gets clicks and views, but I'm not like really into — that's not like my thing."
Tatum's full response:
“I understand we’re in the entertainment business. Me personally, I'm not much of an off-the-court entertainer type of guy. For me, I don't have any animosity or beef or ill will towards him. I think the frustrating part is that since he's not with the Celtics anymore, the narrative or the conversations haven't been enough about what we accomplished. All the games we won, winning the championship, how we've grown together. And it's turned into this, you know, like drama type of thing. Like, I’ve got two kids. You know what I'm saying? I reached out to him the day he got traded. I called him, I texted him, and I understand people process things differently. So for me, at this point in our lives, we're too old to be having our relationship discussed X, Y, and Z on the internet. There's a conversation to be had. We can definitely have that conversation. I welcome that. I've always wanted the best for him and wished the best for him. I've always publicly said those things. I've seen all these things about, like, get your popcorn ready when they play. Like, no, this isn’t no fucking boxing match. I play basketball. Again, there's no animosity, there's no beef. And I just hate the way that the conversation or the narrative around it -- when there's not enough communication. And I think a conversation would solve or put out a lot of fires. And again, people process and handle things at their own time, and whenever that happens, it’ll happen.”
Is a conversation needed between Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown?
“I'm not saying it's going to be a bad conversation. I just think, especially in sports and in the NBA, I think sometimes there is not enough communication. Not to blame y'all, but sometimes media or outside [noise] can just continue to push or speculate. Rightfully so, that's y'all job. And like I said, he just turned 30. I'm 28. I got two kids. Like it's just as adults, just a conversation.”
Tatum adds… “This ain’t no fucking Shaq-and-Kobe. There’s no beef.”
Jayson Tatum had a lengthy response to Jaylen Brown calling cap on his reaction to Brown being traded.
“I don't have any animosity or beef or ill will towards him… We are too old to be having our relationship discussed X, Y, and Z like on the internet. There is a conversation to be had.”
Paul George on playing at TD Garden as a Celtic:
“It’s energetic. It’s fun playing in front of them. It’s exciting.”
Paul George on the disruptive defense from the Celtics:
“I think that’s what this team is. We force turnovers.”
At the end of his press conference, Joe Mazzulla explained why he didn’t take a timeout in between the 6:53 and 3:00 mark of the fourth quarter, apologizing to the fans pleading for a timeout.
Joe Mazzulla on Jayson Tatum’s defense:
“You look at the stat sheet tonight, 14-for-26, 36 points, that’s probably the game that everybody expects 82 nights a year. I’ll be a betting man that he gets something similar to that most nights. But his greatness has to be in other ways for us… He takes on the challenge of being disruptive defensively.”
Paul George on Jayson Tatum:
“JT was special. He was special from start to finish… That’s the JT we’ve all seen. He’s special. The kid is special.”
