Imagine trying to persuade the British public to trust your company with their data and deciding the best way to do it is - "Let's get Tom Watson to vouch for us."
Nobody wants to buy a service they can’t walk away from. Palantir’s critics have long claimed we ‘lock in’ our customers. We don’t. This short film explains why. It’s the first in a series on the gap between the rhetoric about Palantir and the work we actually do.

Not surprised by these numbers. Voters switch off when parties become obsessed with internal ideological rows. We should be fighting for homes, lower bills, better public services and climate action.
Westminster Voting Intention: LAB: 32% (+5) CON: 24% (+3) RFM: 20% (-3) LDM: 9% (+1) GRN: 8% (-5) SNP: 3% (-1) RES: 3% (=) Via @Ipsos_in_the_UK, 15-22 Oct. Changes w/ 10-15 Sep.

The Green Party is at its best when we're campaigning on the things that affect people's lives every single day. If we want to win trust and grow again, that's where our focus needs to be.

"Polanski has fundamentally changed the Green party. He's antagonistic, not co-operative and hardly talks about the environment." ConservativeHome founder Tim Montgomerie tells Green MP Ellie Chowns to 'save the party from becoming a radical left nasty party'. @AliFortescue

Putting power-sharing agreements and council stability at risk to chase a news cycle is reckless politics. Residents will be the ones who pay the price.
🟢 New w @EthanCroft98 - what does Andy Burnham’s moratorium on deals with the Green Party mean for the local authorities across the country that are made up of Labour-Green coalitions/agreements? The NS understands that Green councillors in power-sharing areas have received letters from their Labour colleagues setting out the consequences of the Prime Minister’s position. Green councillors must publicly reject the “Zionism is racism” motion within seven days or power sharing will end. One such letter, seen by the NS, reads: “If we are to continue working together on behalf of local residents, we require a clear and unambiguous public statement that you reject the ‘Zionism is racism’ policy and that it does not reflect the policy of your Group within seven days. Without this public confirmation, the Labour Group will not be able to continue any coalition or power sharing agreement. We also require you to publicly call on the Green Party leadership to reject this policy in its entirety, and to make clear that ‘Zionism is racism’ will not be the Green Party’s national position.” Full story @NewStatesman below

The result in Holborn & St Pancras is disappointing, but let's keep some perspective. Polling over 30% in what was recently considered a safe Labour seat would have been unimaginable a few years ago. We've come a long way.

If we're serious about growing, we need to spend more time listening to ordinary working people and speaking to the challenges they face every day. That's how we've made progress, and that's how we'll keep growing.

It's been a tough week for the Green Party, but we've had plenty of tough weeks over the last 50 years. The job now isn't to assign blame. It's to get organised, learn the lessons and start preparing for the next General Election.

Today I've resigned as Coordinator of my local Green Party. I've poured so much into this party over the years. Evenings, weekends, campaigning, organising. I've genuinely given it everything. I could stay quiet and sit on the sidelines, but that's just not me. If I think something is wrong, I'll say it. Since speaking out I've had hundreds of abusive and threatening messages. Some are serious enough that I'll be taking them to the police. And to people in the party who have the same concerns as me, please don't stay silent. Speak up. It matters. I'm genuinely gutted it's come to this, but I have to stand by what I believe.

Maybe it's time to admit that conference isn't a democratic way of making policy. Decisions are made by a tiny, self selecting fraction of the membership with the time, money and flexibility to spend an entire weekend at conference. 1/4

That's not a criticism of individual attendees. It's a criticism of a system that inevitably favours people who are relatively affluent, retired, professionally flexible, or otherwise able to absorb the cost and time commitment. 3/4

If we're serious about grassroots democracy, policy shouldn't effectively be decided by 1% of members in the room. The Green Party needs a better way of making policy that gives every member a meaningful voice. 4/4

Great to join Cllr Ria Rembadi, Knowsley Green Party members and local volunteers today for a litter pick along the River Alt. 💚 A big thank you to everyone who gave up their time to help keep our local area clean, green and welcoming for all.

As a member of GPC (Green Party Council), it's always frustrating when we can't respond to claims about individual cases because we're bound by confidentiality. People understandably see one side of the story, but we're often not in a position to say anything at all. 1/5

I've also seen criticism of welfare information being included in correspondence. In reality, providing details of support services and sources of wellbeing advice is pretty standard whenever people are going through a stressful process. 4/5

And finally, I'd ask people to be careful before accusing volunteers of prejudice without evidence. GPC includes trans and non-binary members, among many others. It's perfectly fair to disagree with a decision. It's not fair to assume bad faith from those involved. 5/5
