The Nairobi Declaration on Trust & Call to Action is live. 5 major moves to repair the global social contract:
1. Global Trust Facility: A @UNDP-administered fund to build national trust & digital infrastructure.
2. Regulatory Trust Index: Annual metric to eliminate duplicative compliance costs.
3. @UN Reform: Invoking @UN Charter Art. 109 for structural UN Security Council overhaul.
4. Measuring the "Trust Tax": @UNCTAD to study the commercial costs of global distrust.
5. Nairobi Trust Council: Permanent follow-up body hosted in Kenya.

The post-1945 multilateral order is buckling under a severe global trust deficit.
In Arena Conversation 6 conversations; The Global Order We Need and Accountability on Promises Made, policymakers and judicial leaders mapped out a clear directive: international institutions must deliver verified action or face total irrelevance.

How do we turn promises into performance?
Matthias Kamp, @KAS_Kenya rejected bureaucracy in favor of a lean "reference framework." Instead of complex blueprints, we need open tracking tools that allow peers and civil society to hold leaders accountable to "high-hanging fruit" global reforms.

Thank you to everyone who made this conversation possible. The real work begins beyond the summit. ✨

Today, at #TrustBeyondBorders during #TrustSummit2026 (@GTSummit2026) in Nairobi, under the theme “Weaving Trust: Binding Strands for a Stronger Global Order,” I joined political leaders, international institutions, businesses, scholars, and civil society to reflect on rebuilding trust and strengthening global cooperation.
“We live in a defining paradox: humanity has never needed each other more, yet we find it increasingly difficult to trust.”
Beyond roads, railways, and energy grids lies a far more critical asset: *"the Invisible Infrastructure of Trust"*
An agreement does not automatically produce cooperation, nor does an institution command confidence by its existence alone. Real integration is measured by enduring relationships, shared responsibility, and commitments honoured.
For Africa, trust means accountability, effective delivery, stronger integration, and sustainable financing of our Union. Equally, we must defend international law, strengthen solidarity, and build institutions worthy of the confidence of our peoples and nations.
Trust cannot be proclaimed into existence. It must be earned through good governance, cooperation, and the honouring of commitments.
I thank the Government and people of Kenya for their warm hospitality, and commend H.E. President @WilliamsRuto, @_AfricanUnion Champion for Institutional Reform, for his leadership.
May the outcomes of this Summit strengthen global partnerships, cooperation, and solidarity—within the overarching framework of trust—for a more united and prosperous Africa.

On Sovereignty as a Shield for Inaction:
Early warning signs are routinely ignored. When crises reach the @UN Security Council or @_AfricanUnion Peace & Security Council, member states hide behind "internal sovereignty" to block action and dispute facts. Multilateralism is unravelling from the inside.
