Meanwhile, some of my colleagues have argued that I can’t safely supervise non-invasive prostate cancer therapy from my clinic area a hundred feet from the patient.

This is a colorized photo of my grandmother in autumn 1920. She is playfully wearing my grandfather‘s World War I uniform. He had very recently returned from Europe.

A little history: ICD 1 had only two codes: A) possessed by evil spirit B) not possessed by evil spirit ICD 2 was a little more complex: 1) Dead 2) Not Dead 3) I say you're Dead 4) I feel happy! Also sub-codes modifiers for A) covered in poop or B) Must be a king

The existential question: If radical prostatectomy disappeared from the Earth, is there any stage or grade of prostate cancer for which the overall survival curve would be worse? Same question, definitive radiation.

I believe this is the correct take. I certainly hope it is the correct take.
Let me make one correction to what I posted. AI will replace most doctors tasks! Because most of their tasks are bullshit administrivia introduced by the huge HC conglomerates that serve no purpose. Asking whether AI can replace doctors practicing medicine is the wrong question and approach to improving care The question is whether there is anything middlemen like PBMs and ASOs and their subsidiaries do, that AI can’t replace ? Doing so will give doctors far more time with patients and improve the quality of life for healthcare providers and patients. And it will reduce the cost of healthcare dramatically Replace the middlemen with AI

I recently finished building this web-back Windsor chair. Made entirely with antique hand tools. It had a twin which died in production (wood split) but which may be reincarnated in a deacon’s bench.

This rocking chair was an earlier project. Made entirely from wood I harvested from my farm.

Whenever I hear “radiotherapy” I picture this guy.
Can a single word influence cancer treatment preferences? In our randomized experiment, calling the same treatment “radiotherapy” rather than “radiation therapy” increased preference for radiation treatment by 8.3 percentage points. Just published in @IJROBP: redjournal.org/article/S0360… With @KatLudwikowska & @JustynaKlejdysz

Enthusiastic re NRG-GI011. Pt interest is high. It’s also a great opportunity to educate colleagues about critical role of RT in pancreatic cancer. Some seem stuck in the 1980s in their understanding and referral patterns. Clinical trial subjects are absolutely our heroes.
