The anomaly of fanatic Turkish social media influencers is worth analyzing. They are using the KF-21 prototype platform, one of thousands of Korean weapons, Far east, to deceive hapless patriots. They don't even know how IP and development progress are progressing. In terms of military power, defense investment, R&D, heavy industry, company size, and risk&schedule management, Korea and Turkey are not even comparable. Beyond the patriotic advertising of KAAN by strange influencers, the Altay tank, which began low-rate production in 2025, was backed by extensive support from the Korean gov, agencies, and companies. This support, surprisingly, spanned about 15 years and encompassed not only tank technology but also other technologies. However, Koreans highly value this cooperation with Turkey. The IP you use, the cell phones and cars you use, are all created through collaborations between multinational corporations. The excessive worship of KAAN is particularly unusual. KAAN is the result of foreign companies' efforts, and like Altay, it continues to be delayed due to various issues. Even more surprising is that, in the midst of all this, Turkey is planning to buy European jets and is also struggling to purchase the F-35. (Which is very interesting) Meanwhile, S.Korea is already producing the KF-21 Blk-I, not a prototype, and unlike Turkey, it operates a decent number of F-35As. Furthermore, a variety of subsonic, supersonic, and hypersonic missiles are being developed for the KF-21. S.Korea plans to deploy the KF-21, along with the F-15K and F-35A, as a long-range missile shuttle and as the central node for the MUM-T. The KF-21 Blk-I and II programs, designed to replace aging fighter jets, have already been successful. The aircraft itself, avionics, and core technologies were developed independently for decades. The remaining minor components were imported to strengthen national defense, thanks to the country's strong relations with others. The KAAN will be developed in 'Block' form, like the 4.5 generation KF-21, rather than in the 5th generation. The KAAN will proceed more slowly than expected and will consume more taxpayer money. Excluding factors like company size, R&D, heavy industry, military size, and sales performance, if we compare the capabilities of the ROK Air Force, Navy, Army, Strategic Missile Command with those of Turkey, Turkish social media patriots become even more pitiful. Folks, being fanatic patriotic on social media, won't improve your life. I have many Turkish followers on X Platform who are open to analysis. However, we expect fanatics will focus on slandering a single combat platform from a country far away, rather than on their own internal problems, without providing accurate background, development process, procurement, government, agencies, corporate capabilities, time requirements, R&D investment, or production information. If you 'truly' want to compare Korea and Turkey, you should abandon social media patriotism and try to compare Turkey's heavy industry, R&D, military size (fixed demand), corporate size, and sales performance to reach about 40% of Korea's. The truth is always close, but facing it is difficult. As you may have guessed, I respect race, ideology, politics, religion, gender, and age. In that sense, writing something like this is truly frustrating. I didn't want to post this, but I had to at the request of people from various countries. I interact personally with experts and defense industry officials and attend seminars and exhibitions. How many fanatics would actually do that? All other priorities are secondary to victory.
The Reality Gap: Why Comparing Turkey's KAAN to the KF-21 is Currently Illogical The overzealous promotion of Turkey's KAAN (TFX) program, particularly the comparisons attempting to equate it with Korea's KF-21 Boramae, fundamentally misunderstands or willfully ignores—the reality of aircraft development and genuine progress. 1. The True State of KAAN: A Political Prototype While KAAN's maiden flight was a milestone, its significance is severely limited. The swift follow-up announcement of a major redesign strongly suggests that the prototype's brief flight was primarily for political optics (specifically, for President Erdoğan) rather than for achieving deep aerodynamic validation. The critique that KAAN remains a 'Paper Fighter' or a 'Decoy' is rooted in this ongoing developmental uncertainty. 2. KF-21's Proven Record and International Credibility In sharp contrast, the KF-21 is not just flying; it is accumulating essential, credible data. It is well on its way to achieving over 1,000 sorties, establishing fundamental design stability and flight envelope reliability. Real-World Verification: The KF-21's proven capability is underscored by the fact that senior military figures and pilots from international allies including the UAE, Poland, and Indonesia have personally flown and evaluated the aircraft. This is not mere propaganda; it is objective proof of robust development and international trust. 3. The Lack of a Logical Basis for Comparison Any meaningful comparison between the two programs requires meeting a logical standard of 'Proven Capability.' This standard demands a minimum of 1,000+ flight sorties and the successful completion of initial weapons integration tests, which are prerequisites for operational readiness. Turkey has a history of leveraging licensed technology, seen in the development of the Altay tank (based on K2 technology) and the T-155 Fırtına (based on K9 self-propelled howitzer technology). To persistently label KAAN as a "5th Generation Fighter" and compare it to the KF-21 is seen as akin to investment fraud—marketing an unverified concept as a finished product to secure political gains or funding. Our message to the KAAN project management is clear: Do not attempt comparison until you have achieved a minimum of 1,000 flight sorties, guaranteeing basic operational capabilities. Promoting an unverified aircraft as a peer to the KF-21 lacks the transparency and objective rigor expected in major defense development. #KF21

#weareready
