To our volunteers: Thank you.
From the calls and texts to the 600,000 doors knocked, this moment was built by you.
Special congratulations to Keren Charles Dongo, who took a leave of absence from my office to lead this referendum campaign to victory. I’m lucky to have her on my team and couldn’t be more proud of the difference she’s making for the Commonwealth and country.

My statement slamming the Senate’s failure to pass my bipartisan legislation to stop unauthorized war against Venezuela:

ALT "The Trump Administration confirmed to some members of Congress yesterday that it lacks the legal authority to launch strikes into Venezuela. But instead of voting to pass our bipartisan war powers resolution to reaffirm this principle, many of my colleagues chose to ignore their solemn constitutional responsibility and hide in the tall grass. If the U.S. is going to put our nation’s sons and daughters into harm’s way, then we should have a robust debate in Congress in front of the American people. My colleagues’ unwillingness to debate an issue as important as this one—as well as Congress’ increasing abdication to the Executive Branch on so many other matters—is putting us on a dangerous path."

I had a productive visit to Lee County Community Hospital to hear from leadership about what it’s meant for the community since the hospital reopened. I was proud to work with the community to reopen the hospital and we talked about how to protect it—and others—from Medicaid cuts.

Closing the books on this week with a rally here in Newport News. It's an honor to represent Virginians in the U.S. Senate – and I will continue to stand up for Virginians in every corner of our Commonwealth.
I can't wait to be back on the trail and to win this November!

Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, more infrastructure projects are getting funded. Today, I celebrated federal funding to create a pedestrian and bicycle path in downtown Harrisonburg that will improve safety & make it easier for residents to get where they need to go.

Last night, I spoke on the Senate floor to highlight the remarkable careers of the American servicemembers whose lives have been put on hold because of the Republican blockade of military promotions. This reckless stunt punishes military families and harms our military readiness.

"When I came to Congress in 2013, there were no women in the VA congressional delegation. Today, after Congresswoman McClellan’s swearing in, there are four, including VA’s first-ever Black woman Representative. She’ll do a great job serving Virginians in the 4th District!" – TK
