🤖💻 AI is the hot topic at our KEDC Technology Leaders Cadre today in Lexington!
We are excited to welcome Andrea Claver from the EDSAFE AI Alliance as we dive into AI policy development and what safe, responsible AI use looks like for students and staff.
We are thankful for another great turnout and the meaningful conversations happening among our district technology leaders!
We’re also looking forward to partnering with some of our Instructional Leaders in early December for a collaborative project exploring what purposeful screen time and AI use can and should look like in our schools. Every student deserves someone in their corner—and school counselors help make that happen.
KEDC’s Jayme Poe, Academic Services Coordinator and Counselor at New Horizons Academy, recently joined fellow Kentucky School Counselor Association (KSCA) members in a conversation with Governor Andy Beshear about strengthening school counseling services across the Commonwealth.
The discussion centered on adequate funding and access to counselors who support students’ academic, social, and emotional needs.
We’re proud of Jayme for bringing her voice to this important conversation and advocating for the support Kentucky students need to thrive in school and beyond!

It’s exciting for a school to have a student compete at the statewide level in pageants.
It’s even more exciting to have TWO students representing Paris City Schools on the state level.
Congratulations to 8th grader Ella Harper and Freshman Elinor McCauley for qualifying!
