I build several projects in parallel, with AI agents. Here's what's live and what's in progress
BOOKOV
A reading app and personal library
✅ iOS app, now with free public-domain libraries: bookov.app/ios
✅ Web app: web.bookov.app
✅ Landing: bookov.app
🟠 Android app
KARDO
Language learning with flashcards. Turns any content, even live lessons with a tutor, into flashcard sets: the bot joins the lesson, figures out from context which words you need to review and makes cards with translations
✅ Web app: kardo.cards
✅ Telegram bot: t.me/kardocards_bot
🟠 iOS app
LYRA
A new kind of yacht broker: it doesn't sell you a yacht, it helps you buy the one that fits you. A curated catalog of 1000+ yachts with full specs and a cost-of-ownership calculator, in 7 languages
✅ Catalog: lyra.yachts
✅ Yachting sign-language dictionary
🟠 iOS app
🟠 AI agents
ZHURNALUS
My media with a 10-year history, published by Art. Lebedev Studio. I'm the editor-in-chief, and now I'm building its mobile apps too
🟠 iOS app
RADARIC
A smart feed reader (RSS, Telegram channels, X and more) that filters the stream by your brief, learns from your feedback and merges posts about the same thing
✅ Web app: radaric.pro
META
All of this runs on my dev system of agents, skills, docs and harness settings. Some of the skills are public: github.com/kirillgreen/skill…
I don't build any of this alone: everywhere except Radaric I have partners and colleagues. But the design and development are mostly or entirely mine
I wanted to try advertising Kardo on Instagram
For that, my cofounder Vlad and I hung out in a park and shot some clips where we talk about which pains the product solves and how to use it
It came out lively and natural. I edited them in the agentic app Palmier (more on it separately)
But the clips needed CTA endings. I decided to build them in (surprise) Claude Code. For that I asked it to lay out and animate HTML in the needed format. Took a bit of fiddling, moving objects around, fixing timings and hunting for sounds that aren't annoying, but in the end it turned out pretty decent
What I especially like is that new versions can be put together in literally minutes. Think up a variation, dictate it, done
Then came my first experience with agentic advertising: I set up and launched ads for Kardo on Meta Ads together with Claude, promoting reels that were already published
Claude and I spent 20 euros, and then I decided to stop
€20.29 · 11,620 impressions · 10,688 reach · 772 clicks total · 561 link clicks · CTR 6.64% (all clicks) / 4.83% link · CPC €0.026 · cost per link click €0.036
And just one sign-up for all that. Super low. Either the algorithm hadn't found the interested people yet, or there was a problem with the landing page. I decided it was more likely the latter, so I paused the ads and started upgrading the landing page kardo.cards/. Improve the main version, plus make one adapted to the specific video that brings in the clicks
The asymmetry of how ideas spread
It seems like correct ideas should spread and incorrect ones shouldn't. That smart and deserving people should rise to the top. That the ones climbing the career ladder should be the ones who do their job brilliantly
As if correct ideas, meaning ones rooted in objective reality, that objectively work and bring benefit, should beat ideas that are wrong and do harm
But nothing of the sort happens in reality. Ideas don't spread in an ideal universe, they spread among people, that is, in their heads and their communities, so the ideas that spread are the ones that look convincing (aka exploit human cognitive biases), fit the dominant narrative and don't threaten the status quo too much. Ideas, even correct ones, that aren't presented convincingly, that go against the narrative and the status quo, don't take root or are even aggressively rejected
It often happens that an idea is harmful from the point of view of the interests of the individual, the family, the local community, the city and the entire Homo species, yet gets mass adoption. Communism, for example. In the form it was attempted in the 20th century, this idea is deeply mistaken. Many understood that in advance. And by the 1920s Mises and Hayek had already published the works showing the structural problems of a planned economy. But the idea of "to each according to his needs" is so strong and contagious, sells so well, that even tens of millions of victims weren't enough for humanity to reliably learn the idea is wrong, and it is still alive today
Or take the idea that a person who earns more than others should also pay more taxes into the common treasury (Why should you pay more in exchange for access to the same amount of goods as everyone else? Dangerous question, don't ask it). This approach creates negative incentives for everyone who wants to invent, create and build, meaning the idea works against the growth of prosperity for individuals, groups, whole cities and countries, yet it has spread across the entire planet. Moreover, in many territories an even more perverse version of this idea wins, where the one who earns more has to pay a larger percentage (!) of their income into the common treasury. The idea is absolutely insane, but it wins
Correct and working ideas are often so counterintuitive and contradict our knowledge of the world so much that they struggle to make their way into people's minds. They don't look convincing, despite being correct. And they need a long time to take root. There are plenty of examples here too. The (now) famous Hungarian obstetrician Ignaz Semmelweis and the even more famous English physician John Snow, who struggled to push the ideas that doctors' hands and water need to be clean, otherwise people die. Ludwig Boltzmann, who was hounded by major scientists for the idea of atoms. The ideas that slavery is unacceptable, that the sexes are equal, spontaneous order, all from the same basket
I find it very interesting to think about this in relation to myself and to today. Surely some of the ideas I accept, I accept not because they are (as it seems to me) correct, but because they are convincing. And some of the ideas I reject are correct but counterintuitive and not convincing enough
Some of the ideas about the world that are mainstream today will be recognized as wrong in the future
I think it's very important to develop the skill of telling correct ideas from convincing ones. And on the other hand, it seems no less important to be able to present your ideas and your work as convincingly as possible. It's not enough to be right, it's not enough to do good work, it's fundamentally important to also be able to talk about it convincingly
This fundamental asymmetry is the reason we so often watch promotions go not to the people who do the work well, but to the people who talk about it convincingly. And success in business goes not necessarily to the people who make the best product, but to those who talk about it most convincingly
IN SHORT: let's train ourselves to tell correct ideas from beautiful and pleasant ones, and to present our own convincingly
Multilingual LYRA. First I built the infrastructure for multiple languages, then we did the translations themselves: all the site pages and the pages of all 1032 yachts, into six languages including Russian
It took a month and a half, but it was worth it: the LYRA site (link in reply) is now fully translated into 7 languages. Landing page, all inner pages, the catalog, every yacht
The translation was done in several stages, with the translation double-checked by different models (Anthropic and OpenAI checked each other)
The page count grew from ~2000 to ~12000. Growth in search traffic is already noticeable
I tested GPT-6 Astra: gave it the task of finishing and improving the reading statistics in Bookov that the previous Opus had started. It turned out pretty decent, to my taste. The screenshots show the version Astra made almost without my edits. It first generated five or so concepts for me…
Then I played around with the reading stats some more, this time in Fable and Opus. Tried to make them visual and oriented toward the reader's goals as I imagine them: read regularly, build a habit, see progress over the year. But in a way that the stats emphasize what's already done, not the fact that you, dummy, still haven't read two of the books you promised
In the last few months there have already been several cases of neural nets making breakthroughs in mathematics. For example, in August an as-yet-unreleased Anthropic model advanced the Riemann hypothesis itself (link in reply), one of the main unsolved problems in mathematics of the last 150 years. That's just one example out of a whole series of such news
I think many people don't grasp the scale of what this news means. Yes, for now the models' ability to make progress in mathematics is at an early stage, and the progress is small. But what matters here is that the fundamental possibility of advancing mathematics (and therefore any science) with LLMs has been proven. We now know for sure that neural nets can produce an original intellectual product: a discovery, or a solution to a previously unsolved problem. And mathematics is the most honest test, because a proof can't be found ready-made or faked; it's checked by a formal system, and originality is verifiable
It follows that the common claim that neural nets are just "stochastic parrots", capable only of repeating and incapable of creating anything original, is wrong. More precisely, it's true for weak models but not for LLM technology as a whole. There are no fundamental limits
When models become powerful enough for this ability to spread to every field of science and creative work is now only a question of time (and of building data centers along with power plants). It may take years, but we will inevitably arrive at a point where agents can generate genuinely original creative work better than humans
That world will be radically different from the one we see now. I don't know whether we'll like it, but it definitely won't be boring
Radaric recently got its first two paying subscribers. I thought about it and decided to check how a cold audience reacts to the product. And for that, to tell the world about it on Product Hunt
Wrote the copy, slopped together the images and launched. I'm not expecting big sales, of course, but it'll be interesting to look at the traffic and conversions
I'd be glad for your support there! Link in reply
It didn't go without a fail. You've probably heard that a lot of services went down yesterday. Among other things, OpenRouter forcibly disabled some of my keys so I'd have to issue new ones urgently, and because of that, for the first three hours of the launch the product couldn't parse anything, even if it wanted to. Everything's fixed now, but it stings
Another LYRA thing: we made a web app with a dictionary of yachting sign language, which helps deaf and hard-of-hearing people communicate on board
For each sign Denis generated a clear illustration with a girl. It's cool that he managed to keep the character consistent: she's the same one everywhere
And I packaged it all into a web app with search and a category index. Built in an offline mode so it works at sea without internet, link in reply
Built the KARDO iOS app!
Come test it in TestFlight, link in reply
I'd be really grateful for feedback. I tried to make it look nice and feel pleasant to use. But from experience, there are surely bugs and rough edges in there
Write in the replies or DM me. Or send feedback through TestFlight
By the way, KARDO has stats too, just like Bookov
They still need work to look and work even better (number of active days, for example, the longest streak, a chart of the number of words and so on), but overall this kind of thing motivates me to read and practice regularly. I can really feel how the urge to fill in the squares pushes me to work on things that matter to me (languages and books in this case)
How about you? Does this work for you as help with building and keeping a habit? Or not?
Gave Radaric's UI a slight upgrade
— Superellipse corner rounding everywhere (works even in Safari)
— Articles now open in a side drawer, so you don't leave the posts page
— Added a hover gallery (move the cursor and the images flip through), a component from Intuition Design System
— Nice animations for all the numbers and counters
— Generally reworked the posts screen a bit and moved the parsing status into a separate card (it used to be a long sausage stretched across the full width of the screen)
I've also decided to make Radaric open source. The repository is in the works. Anyone will be able to run it locally or on a server, plug in their own LLM API keys, and use it
