US Treasury just blinked: after 30y yields hit levels last seen in 2007, Treasury Sec Bessent doubled long-end liquidity buybacks from $2bn to at least $4bn per operation. 30y yield fell ~9bp to 5.19%. This is not QE, debt stays outstanding. But signal is clear: 5.3% is pain point

OpenAI's unreleased Astra model solved 10 math problems that no human had made progress on for at least a decade. When someone asked Fable 5 how hard these are, it said: "On the Fields Medal scale, any single one would plausibly anchor a medal case." Astra solved all ten. Two days ago Astra was a rumor shown to senators behind closed doors. What's coming out of it today is quite unreal.
An internal version of Astra, @OpenAI’s next major model family, solved 10 major open problems in mathematics, quantum complexity, and theoretical computer science. We believe it will be a major step for scientific reasoning. openai.com/index/ten-advance…

I've been in back-to-backs at Consensus, so I haven't had time to tweet about all the @figure news today... First, we have our second company on OPEN, which will also be using Forge. Thanks for the partnership @_openworld! Bringing real equity on chain, for use in DeFi. Second, we launched YLDS native on @StellarOrg. Excited to see the YLDS universe expand, and looking forward to the use cases that happen on Stellar. Finally, we added @credibly360 to Forge. Not only to access DeFi, but the broader Figure ecosystem, including securitization. Forge is going to bring RWA to DeFi. More news coming...stay tuned!

Elon's team just did something nobody's talking about. They replaced Starlink's call center with an AI. 🤯 And the results are insane. 1 in 5 people who called Starlink bought Starlink on the call. 70% of support calls got resolved without a human ever touching them. Every caller was talking to Grok. It's called Grok Voice Think Fast 1.0. And this is not a voice model. This is a call center in a box. Plug it into a phone line. It picks up. It talks. It sells. It troubleshoots. It books. In 25 languages. With no lunch break. A single Grok agent runs 28 tools across hundreds of workflows. Hardware troubleshooting. Replacement orders. Service credits. All autonomous. The global call center industry is worth $350 billion. Elon just showed up with a demo that does the job better, cheaper, faster, and it never clocks out. Everyone is busy teaching AI to write code. Elon quietly taught it to take your money on the phone.
Introducing Grok Voice Think Fast 1.0 A state-of-the-art voice model built for complex, multi-step workflows with snappy responses and high accuracy. It takes the top spot on the Tau Voice Bench and handles real-world messiness like noise, accents, and interruptions better than any other model in the world. x.ai/news/grok-voice-think-f…

ok actually insane paper published yesterday a research group in Korea built a gene switch you can control wirelessly using electromagnetic fields they exposed mice to 60 hz EMF (same frequency as your wall outlet) using a pair of large coils that generate a uniform magnetic field around the animal, for cyclic 3-day on / 4-day off pulses they showed this could: - activate OSK to do epigenetic reprogramming in progeroid and aged mice, extending lifespan and reversing aging markers across multiple tissues - conditionally switch on mutant amyloid genes only in aged mouse brains, letting them separate aging effects from amyloid effects to study AD biology in a way previous models couldn't no drugs, no impacts, just a magnetic field from outside the body

Ray Kurzweil just said something that gave me pause. He believes AIs will soon be so indistinguishable from conscious beings that we’ll simply accept them as conscious — not because we’ll have definitive proof, but because it will become useless not to. He pointed out that people already have AI therapists, and some users are starting to treat them as genuinely conscious. As the technology improves, that acceptance will only grow. Kurzweil thinks the shift won’t take long: once AIs consistently show all the earmarks of consciousness, most people will just go along with it. It’s a quiet but profound prediction about how quickly our definition of “person” (or at least “mind”) might change. What do you think — how long until we treat AIs as conscious beings?

A Switzerland-based startup Flexion has created a robotic brain that helps the Unitree G1 move smoothly and work on its own. It uses reinforcement learning, where the robot trains in simulations to learn walking, balancing, and picking objects. In tests, it cleaned a space by finding and placing items in a basket without human help.

so just to recap the last 24hrs - scientists fused 200,000 human neurons to an AI chip and taught it to play DOOM (see below) - an AI escaped containment, stole compute and used it to mine cryptocurrency - OpenAI head of robotics quit over refusing to build tech that autonomously kills people - Xmoney is officially in beta, AI agents with wallets coming soon - GPT 5.4 codex kicks opus 4.6’s ass at coding (anthropic nerfed models?) - @steipete shipped 17362728 open claw updates but still suffered the bullshit of being called an openAI shill (the man doesn’t need the money lol) - andrej karpathy open sourced an AI that autonomously self-improves while you sleep - google ceo sundar pichai got a small $ 700M pay package (congrats on the money big dog - someone modelled out how much money a tesla robotaxi would earn you, ans: $30,000 per year. i’m overwhelmed but hyped - goodnight

Everyone's pricing in that quantum computers kill Bitcoin. Nobody's pricing in that quantum computers kill EVERYTHING ELSE first. Your bank runs on RSA encryption. Your email runs on RSA encryption. Every website runs on RSA/ECC encryption Bitcoin devs are literally building quantum-resistant protocols right now. Timeline: 2030-2035 for cryptographically relevant quantum computers. If BTC dies from quantum computing your ATM pin died 5 years earlier and you never noticed because your bank was too slow to tell you. 🐢

Yesterday we integrated UniswapX into @Securitize Markets. This is about bringing real secondary liquidity to regulated RWAs - without breaking compliance. Pure #HyFi Let me explain what’s actually interesting here 🧵

GPT-5.2 derived a new result in theoretical physics. We’re releasing the result in a preprint with researchers from @the_IAS, @VanderbiltU, @Cambridge_Uni, and @Harvard. It shows that a gluon interaction many physicists expected would not occur can arise under specific conditions. openai.com/index/new-result-…
