On Friday, 21 November 2025, South African women will silence the nation. We call on all women and members of the LGBTQI+ community across South Africa to refrain from all paid and unpaid work in workplaces, universities, homes, and communities to demonstrate the economic and social impact of their absence. Because until South Africa stops burying a woman every 2.5 hours, the G20 cannot speak of growth and progress. We demand that Gender-Based Violence and Femicide be declared a National Disaster. Not tomorrow. Not at another summit. Now! Join the G20 Women’s Shutdown. Withdraw Your Power on 21 November. Spread the message across South Africa and beyond. Let’s show the world the power of women. #WomenForChange #WomenShutdown #UnburyTheTruth #G20

Hello name is Amir Moosa. I am 7 years old. I live in Cape Town and I love soccer. I play for Norway Parks. I am a forward and I enjoy scoring goals. I am traveling with my parents to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah because recently my mama passed away. As we are going to be in Saudi Arabia my dad bought tickets to watch the Al Nassr vs Al Ittihad on 1 May (which happens to be my mama's birthday). It will be a dream come true to watch my hero @Cristiano play live. My mum had special shirts made for the game with two of the people I admire the most Ronaldo and Madiba. I would love to meet Ronaldo and give him this special lion bear all the way from South Africa. Please REPOST

We said ‘never again.’ The UK was a safe haven. Now, after the biggest massacre of Jews since the holocaust, British Jewish children are being advised to hide their identities as they walk to school, for their own safety. There should be mass outrage that this is necessary.

Why is there so little concern for these boys or for the fact that there are criminals out there abducting children? The police, the police commissioner and the Minister must be loud and clear that there will be no mercy for perpetrators of these crimes.

Law-abiding citizens with guns have done more to protect innocent life the past 72 hours than our entire president. The gun debate is over.

Dear @CyrilRamaphosa, of all the cabinet ministers that get the job done, Pravin Gordhan is one. If indeed the issues raised in PP’s dubious report have substance after review, only then should you remove him. This country needs PG. Please don’t succumb to political pressure.

We congratulate Minister Pravin Gordhan on being awarded the “Padma Bhushan”, the third-highest civilian award in India, during #RepublicDay2019. The award is given for "distinguished service of a high order...without distinction of race, occupation, position or sex."

These young people walked barefoot from KZN to the Union Buildings so that they could present a memorandum they compiled about tackling youth unemployment to @PresidencyZA. They’re expected to end their 495km walk at the Union Buildings at 10am this morning —->
Let’s support young leaders who believe the essence of democracy is dialogue, now at the Union buildings to deliver a petition to @PresidencyZA at 10am on 2Jan on young people’s concerns after a #HistoricWalk from KwazuluNatal. Well done @kabelo_ubuntu&colleagues @CyrilRamaphosa

The people who are making calls for the scrapping of e-tolls are not unreasonable. E-tolls in small areas of Gauteng are not working. I am engaged in discussions with President @CyrilRamaphosa to scrap the e-tolls. I made a persuasive call to him.

Well said Premier. There is no place for e-Tolls when Sanral were arrogant and didn’t consult meaningfully, misled the public, paid too much for construction, introduced expensive scheme, increased contract to ETC by 77% on Operating Services from what tender reflected. – at Randburg, South Africa
