It's moments like this which reminded us why we started & why we do the work we do.
It has been an honour to receive a letter from the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri V D Satheesan ji (@vdsatheesan), congratulating us on our Inside the Mind of India’s Gen Z.
This is an encouraging recognition of the importance of listening to young people and advancing evidence-informed mental health action.
We hope the perspectives of 5,203 young people will contribute to meaningful dialogue, informed policy and stronger mental health support systems to help move from Awareness to Action. 🌻🧠🙏🏻

388 anti-suicide fans. A precaution that may reduce one specific risk - but is that what we think suicide prevention looks like?
With student suicides continuing to demand urgent attention, we should be building campuses where support is accessible, distress is recognised & asking for help feels safe. But here we are instead.
Suicide doesn't have one stereotypical face, warning sign or pathway.
We cannot reduce prevention to a physical fixture. Yes, we need to make spaces safer, but we also make them kinder.
We must Invest in mental health professionals, train educators, create spaces for honest conversations & address the systemic pressures young people face.
We need campuses that are not just harder to die in, but easier to live in.
Veer Narmad South Gujarat University in Surat has installed 388 special spring-equipped fans across nine hostels as part of an initiative to prevent suicide. The fans are designed to tilt downwards when a weight of more than 10 kg is applied.

Sneha Utsav is returning for its 3rd edition!
A celebration named in memory of my beloved Dadi, someone who truly embodied everything her name stood for - love, compassion and understanding, this fest is more than a tribute to her legacy and memory.
It is an opportunity to come together, challenge stigma and create space for honest conversations about mental health. Together, let's create a change.
आओ, बात करें। 🌻🌱🧠

The last few days have brought some incredible milestones, but none of this would be possible without acknowledging the people behind them.
This is for every child who found the courage to open up, every parent who showed up, every teacher who went the extra mile to learn to do better, every media professional who amplified the conversation, and every community member who challenged stigma, in their own way.
To our friends and supporters, thank you for cheering me on, believing in this work, and helping make mental health conversations more mainstream.
To every leader who has listened and championed this cause, thank you for helping take steps to turn awareness into action.
And above all, my team at Kangaroo Minds. So many ideas that the world now calls ambitious or pathbreaking began as little conversations in our team meetings. Thank you for believing, championing the cause, and making every initiative which started as a dream into reality.
The recognitions may have my name on it, but the work has always had so many hands and hearts behind it and I'll always be so immensely grateful for every one of you.
Together, let's continue leading the change & making a difference to rhe lives of those around us🌻🌱

This World Mental Health Day, I was honoured to receive the Award of Excellence from the Department of Medical, Health and Family Welfare, Government of Rajasthan, for my work in mental health over the years.
I regret not being able to be there in person myself to receive the felicitation, but I am deeply grateful for this recognition, and continue to remain determined to keep building a world where #MentalHealth is understood, stigma is challenged & seeking support is met with compassion. Together, we can make a difference 😊🙏🏻🧠

I’m deeply honoured to have been appointed Mental Health Ambassador for the district by the Hon. District Collector.
This is a milestone moment for the cause as we might be one of the few districts in the country to have made this move & I am very grateful to Dr Arun Garg ji for bestowing me with this title.
Recognising #MentalHealth in this manner as a priority is not just symbolic, but rather an opportunity to bring conversations, awareness & action closer to the people who need them.
I look forward to continue serving our communities in this new role & building safe spaces for conversation and access to care. 🌻🙏🏻 @DMJhunjhunu

Sometimes, the path to supporting others with their #MentalHealth begins with the simple words: “Are you okay?”
I'm very proud to share, "Aao Baat Karein", a short film by the students of Seth G.B. Podar College (Nawalgarh), who remind us of the power of checking in, listening without judgement and encouraging people to seek professional help.
Remember, we all have Mental Health, and we all cam struggle. Seeking help is brave, not weak. 🌻🧠

My students in Nawalgarh put up this very moving performance "Humari Betiyaan" & I couldn't be more proud.
Through this they captured something we know all too well: the distance between the dreams a girl is born with and the freedom society allows her to pursue them.
On International Day of the Girl, I'm sharing their performance because sometimes, the most powerful way to talk about equality is to listen to the voices of the young pople who will inherit the world we leave behind.
May we give our daughters a world where they can be loud, be proud, own their space, and let their dreams take flight. 🫶🏻🌻🩷

💭 Are navigating intrusive / suicidal thoughts
🧠 Are in recovery / seeking therapy

“Are you okay?” has never been just a question for me.
Years of building Kangaroo Minds and working in the space of mental health, particularly in commuity settings, has taught me that asking the question is only the beginning - what matters is how we listen, stay, connect and act.
Today, I’m honoured to have been selected as a Wellbeing Champion for the Commonwealth Youth Council’s “Are You Okay?” campaign, joining young people from across the Commonwealth committed to creating safer spaces for conversations around mental health and wellbeing.
So here's to continuing to ask the question, staying for the answer & being part of changing the narratives around Mental Health. 🌻💭🧠

We asked, you answered - To each of our 5203 Participants from across 24 States & 5 Union Territories, we are so immensely grateful that you shared your perspectives.
A big thank you to everyone who made this possible - every single participant who contributed, my wonderful team who worked tirelessly & to everyone who believed in us on along the way, we wouldn't have gotten here without you.
Tomorrow, we launch India's first Gen Z Mental Health survey - here's to leading this change, together & moving from Awareness to Action.
Keep an eye on this space for more updates and insights from the findings of our survey. 🌻🧠🙌🏻

True peace is more than the absence of conflict - it is #compassion, dignity and #kindness in action.
This #GandhiJayanti, may we choose to embrace #peace in our thoughts, compassion in our actions, and kindness in our words. 💭🍀🌻

#SuicidePreventionMonth may be ending, but we cannot talk about suicide for one month & then return to silence.
The work & conversations must continue to keep listening, learning & striving to build a world where suicide is preventable, and every person has a reason to stay 🌻🎗

"Nothing good comes easy" but resilience shouldn’t mean learning to tolerate what could have been prevented.
Instead of asking young people, “How much can they endure?” we need to think “How much suffering can we prevent?”

A woman is more than someone’s daughter, wife or mother. #Patriarchy doesn’t only restrict choices & autonomy, it can quietly reshape how women see themselves.
In my piece, I explore the #MentalHealth toll of being defined by everyone except yourself.

Every 40 seconds, someone dies by suicide. Every 41 seconds, someone is left to make sense of it.
Suicides affects us all, in one way or another & we can all play a role in preventing them.
