Now that you’ve seen THE DEVILS, I implore you all to see Ken Russell’s CRIMES OF PASSION if you haven’t already.
Horny, hilarious, romantic and profoundly sad all at once, it’s the film Douglas Sirk would have made if he’d known about poppers and pegging.
See THE DEVILS the way Ken Russell intended it to be screened… at a drive in with a Jim Brown/Lee Van Cleef western.
EXCLUSIVE: FX has set Havana Rose Liu to star in a crime drama pilot from 'Widow’s Bay' Emmy winner Hiro Murai and famed Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Kar Wai

Eva Marie Saint with Carver at the TCM Festival. One of the true legends of film died today at age 102. So many great roles… stunning in “North By Northwest,” an Oscar for “On the Waterfront,” the emotional core of “All Fall Down.” variety.com/2026/film/news/e…
It’s amazing that the film that has the most to say about 2026 takes place in 1634 and was made in 1971.

I was a kid- And I remember this film- released by WB was “excessive, overbearing” etc and, in my country, Mexico- we were told that the Church explicitly considered it blasphemy. And here we are… I LOVE it more than ever- because it is NOT about possession but what the political narrative does with it. Glad WB takes risks- even now…

Elvis Presley in “Midnight Cowboy.” He would have been fucking amazing. No damn way the Colonel would have let him do it. But Elvis is Joe Buck: “I like the way I look. Makes me feel good, it does. And women like me, goddammit. Hell, the only one thing I ever been good for is lovin’. Women go crazy for me, that’s a really true fact!”
Excited to announce that Guillermo del Toro is moderating our “Ed Wood” Q&A for the American Cinematheque’s festival of Mel Brooks’ favorite films at the Egyptian Theater Sun Oct 25th 2pm. americancinematheque.com/now…
Near the end of her days, Pauline Kael was asked what was her favorite film… “In my entire life? Well, there’s a French movie that probably you’ve never heard of that I like best… “Menilmontant,” a silent movie made in 1924 by Dmitri Kirsanov starring his beautiful Russian-born wife, Nadia Sibirskaya.“ What better way to celebrate National Silent Movie Day.

Tim Burton's Edward movies are both just masterpieces- and this interaction is the core of the film in many ways... the screenplay by @Karaszewski and Scott Alexander is perfect.
The HORROR exhibit the Academy Museum is absolutely insane. Psycho mom! Bela Lugosi’s cape! Aunt Gladys! The baby from “It’s Alive!” Hannibal Lecter! Dr. Caligari! Patrick Bateman! The Phantom of the Paradise! Storyboards, posters… so much scary stuff. It opened today - RUN!
