I might be biased because I felt like I grew up in the Saddledome, but this is an incredible piece of work. Perfectly illustrates what the ‘Dome means to the city and how bittersweet it’ll be to open the new arena

Connelly scores in his debut. He’s a player…

As camps develop, looks like some of these guys may get opening night looks. Connelly, Protas, and Eklund being part of that group

Last month, I looked at 10 prospects who need to take a step. Today, I delved into 10 prospects who have developed well enough to potentially impact their NHL teams this season. Should be fun to look back on as the season starts and progresses!

First live viewing of the year, pumped have the hockey season back. Still lots of legit prospects on the Calgary side despite most of the top guys being in College. #Flames #Oilers

Can’t describe how much today’s news sucks. So many people did great work at the Fan 960. @Fan960Steinberg was exactly the type of person you wanted to bring local coverage - a true Calgarian who understood the market. Hoping for the best for all who were impacted.

Absolutely gutted for the fine folks at 960 who I’ve had the pleasure of listening to for years. Flames Talk was a staple. @Fan960Steinberg is one of the best in the biz and no one represents the Calgary market better. Hopefully we see him full-time on the TV side next year.

I like Wahlberg, think he can be useful forward lower in a lineup, but this is still a price worth paying for Zellweger

Believe the deal will be Wahlberg and No. 45 for Olen Zellweger

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Johan Nilsson, the founder of Elite Prospects and the person whose curiosity and passion for hockey planted the seed for everything we have built together. Born on the 9th of April 1981, Johan founded Elite Prospects in December 1999 at just 18 years old. What started as a vision driven by a deep love of hockey grew into the world’s leading hockey platform, a testament to the kind of person he was. Johan had a rare combination of qualities: sharp intellect, deep knowledge, and a kindness that made everyone around him feel valued. He could dive into the most complex problems with calm and clarity, and he brought that same thoughtfulness to the people he worked with every day. For the past nine years, Johan faced a battle with colon cancer with the same calm and strength that defined everything he did. His love of hockey was never just about the game. It was about understanding it fully, honestly, and in all its detail. That drive is woven into the DNA of Elite Prospects, and it will continue to shape the future of what we do. To know Johan was to be quietly inspired by him. We are all immensely grateful that we got to work alongside someone like him. Our deepest condolences go to his family and loved ones. He will be greatly missed, by all of us and by the global hockey community. Johan leaves behind his beloved wife and two children, aged two and eight.

Watch this shift from Carson Carels. Late 3rd period. Tied game. Season on the line. He blocks a slot shot, calmly settles the puck behind his net to force a line change. Then delivers a perfect stretch pass for a breakaway & lays out a forward trying to exit #2026NHLDraft

4th last isn’t a terrible spot to end up for the #Flames. Some people I trust have a tier drop after the 6th spot, so that’s decent news. For the record, I think Carels is the best fit if they don’t win the lottery

The transfer portal opens tomorrow. One name two sources mentioned to me in Las Vegas: Sounds like Cullen Potter (Flames) will enter. And a little surprisingly, one source mentioned Michigan State, where Potter was previously committed before decommitting and landing at ASU.
