I always feel a deep sense of responsibility when making a film—to stay authentic, sincere especially when telling a true story. Jesus Land was one such project. Having the author, Julia Scheeres, and her daughter Davia on set made it more meaningful. They were extras!
It was a pleasure to watch Sideways on the big screen with @jesuslandmovie Executive Producer Andrea and her husband. I was thrilled to meet Alexander Payne, whose films I have admired for many years.. Election, Nebraska, Sideways, The Holdovers…
We are making progress on Jesus Land . There are many parallel efforts - fundraising, casting, finding key creative talent. Please contact me if you would like to support the film! @Jeffrey Allard @Julia Scheeres

Obama: I’ve noticed that some men seem to think that Trump's behavior of bullying and putting people down is a sign of strength. That is not real strength. Real strength is working hard, taking responsibility, telling the truth, helping people in need, and standing up for others.

A calling…. All women who believe in a woman’s right to control her own body MUST get Kamala Harris elected.
We are pleased to have Adrienne Stern on board as the casting director for Jesus Land.
Adrienne Stern has built a successful career as a Casting Director. Her films have premiered at Sundance, Toronto, Cannes, Tribeca, Berlin, South by Southwest and other prominent festivals.
There is more to say, but for now let me tell you how proud I am of our @columbiajourn students, whom I've watched report non-stop for days, sleep on floors, support one another & give their all to bearing witness under dire conditions: pulitzer.org/news/statement-… @PulitzerPrizes

The magnificent Octavia Butler always gets it right!
"My most important talent - or habit - was persistence. Without it, I would have given up writing long before I finished my first novel. It's amazing what we can do if we simply REFUSE to give up."

After a tragic mass shooting in Tennessee, state Republican lawmakers called votes to expel three Democratic legislators who stood in solidarity with students and families.
The expulsion of lawmakers who engaged in peaceful protest is shocking, undemocratic, and unprecedented.
