The Voice Behind Bart, Chuckie and Rufues, Nancy Cartwright, Turns 69! 🎙️💛🎉 Few voices are as instantly recognizable in television animation as Cartwright’s performance as Bart Simpson, a character she has brought to life across generations of The Simpsons fans. Beyond Springfield, her remarkable career includes Chuckie Finster in Rugrats, Rufus in Kim Possible, Mindy in Animaniacs, Pistol in Goof Troop, and numerous other animated favorites. Some of her most memorable voice roles include: • Bart Simpson (The Simpsons / The Simpsons Movie) • Chuckie Finster (Rugrats / All Grown Up! / Rugrats Go Wild) • Rufus (Kim Possible) • Nelson Muntz (The Simpsons) • Ralph Wiggum (The Simpsons) • Maggie Simpson (The Simpsons) • Todd Flanders (The Simpsons) • Mindy (Animaniacs / Wakko’s Wish) • Pistol (Goof Troop) • Todd Daring (The Replacements) • Margo Sherman (The Critic) • Daffney Gillfin (Snorks) • Kearney (The Simpsons) • Database (The Simpsons) • Bright Eyes (Pound Puppies / Pound Puppies and the Legend of Big Paw) • Gloria Glad (Richie Rich) • Kip Kangaroo (Shirt Tales) • Gusty (My Little Pony: The Movie) • Dana (The Land Before Time VI: The Secret of Saurus Rock) • Megan Allman (God, the Devil and Bob) What makes her work especially impressive is the contrast she creates among characters voiced by the same performer, Bart’s rebellious energy, Ralph’s innocent unpredictability, Nelson’s rough attitude, and Chuckie’s nervous sweetness all feel completely distinct. At 69, Nancy Cartwright remains one of animation’s defining voices, with Bart Simpson alone securing an extraordinary legacy while decades of characters across Rugrats, Kim Possible, Animaniacs, and beyond show just how much range sits behind that unmistakable voice. 🎙️✨
