Juneteenth is to be commemorated more than celebrated.
I know media has coined “Happy Juneteenth”, but would we say “Happy End of the Holocaust” to Jewish people? Bc slavery was just that, a genocide torture camp that legally lasted for 246yrs, for context the holocaust was 4yrs

This was a massive team effort, I’m so proud of the stories we were able to tell and bring to life visually - there’s some really cool research being done at Jefferson by some really passionate people - they’ve inspired me all year long. Check out their stories below! @EdytaZi

Please, don't "advise" grad students to avoid #newPI labs for their postdocs. We're VERY invested in trainees' success, and it's also an invaluable first-hand learning experience on how to set up a new lab. I don't regret for a sec having done my postdoc with a "new PI".
Pencilling in “COVID” + ☹️ into my daily planner seems like a very 2022 thing to do. Pandemic very much still happening, people.
I was never the greatest at electrophysiology, but constant rig problems made me really good at troubleshooting and MacGyvering - putting those skills to fix a lopsided moss pole. But also #planttwitter, can someone help me tame my monstera? I don’t know what to do with her 😩
This was super informative and resonant #SuicidePrevention
It's #WorldSuicidePreventionDay!
As a suicidologist and someone who has experienced chronic suicidality since age 9, I want to offer some insights that mainstream prevention orgs don't often share. 🧵
Congrats @ZYanWang, you rockstar! 🐝💜
Socially awkward...bumblebees? 🐝 🤔 In our latest #LabNotesPodcast, @ZYanWang discussed her fascinating #neuroscience research investigating how social isolation impacts young bumblebees.

Lab Notes | Bees suffer from social isolation too
It is no secret that social isolation has major developmental consequences on humans, but what about other social creatures like bumblebees? Dr. Wang joins Lab Notes to discuss.
Tip for dealing with burnout: listening to Beyoncé’s “Break my Soul” at regular intervals. Accompanying 5 min dance party and fantasizing about 4 day work weeks strongly encouraged.

And boy did she deliver on this - one of the most accurate portrayals of grief out there (for me!) 💜
“Losing my mom and then wanting to talk about it in a way that is not as sad as the experience of going through it, but being able to be like, ‘If you went through anything like this, you could watch this and feel seen’—I think that was the goal.”– @mindykaling on @neverhaveiever
