SNL UK doing a Nollywood version of Wicked with Cynthia Erivo is the funniest thing they’ve done sorry
Please, I’m begging you! Stop the discussions on a POC James Bond! It’s not needed. Just commission original stories from POC writers on a Spy 🙏🏾
All facts!!!
Has BHM been ‘quiet’ this month or are you ignoring the hundreds of events organised by the Black community for the Black community.
There have never been this level of events before, I can’t keep up.
If by ‘quiet’ you mean not acknowledged by mainstream media or brands ask yourself what their validation does for us collectively?
When has their acknowledgement ever gone beyond novelty?

I am NOT a Descendant of the Windrush!
The SS EMPIRE Windrush is a 🇬🇧 coloniser ship.
My Elders & Ancestors are not define by this 🇬🇧 Coloniser ship.
I am a Descendant of Afrikans enslaved in the Caribbean; & brought to 🇬🇧 under colonial domination.
Prof. Gus John breaks down how the manufactured Windrush identity and Popular narrative are tools of the 🇬🇧 State design to subdue Afrikan-Caribbean people & ensure we are enticed in to allegiance & celebration of 🇬🇧; rather than resistance to 🇬🇧 and it's continued (neo)colonial exploits.
May we heed... Ase 🙏🏿🖤

This full video is BRILLIANT about the myth-making of the Windrush and how the history of the time is completely reconstructed to serve the nation and ignore the ways in which African Caribbean people were treated both in the Caribbean and then in the UK.

I’m finally catching up on #thegentlemen and it’s just as good as the 1st season.
But I can’t help but wonder how good #topboy would’ve been if it was similar. I need a high class black British gangster tv show or film!

First published in 1998 and updated in 2001, Stephen Bourne's 'Black in the British Frame' was one of the first mainstream books to document the historical experiences, representations, and contributions of people of African and Caribbean descent in British cinema and television.
'Black in the British Frame' has been one of the foundations of British screen scholarship since its publication, but it is now almost impossible to find new or old copies.
Bourne tells Deadline in a lengthy interview that the book is out of print. Bloomsbury Publishing, which assumed control of the book after merging with Bourne’s previous publisher, returned the rights to the author.
