Please listen to this - especially in light of the national clapping. We needed - and need - the govt to do better. Health workers need protection from the virus. It’s a ‘preventable scandal’

Here's a great initiative in the US to crowdfund donations to help pay and support sommeliers/on-trade staff who have lost their jobs due to Cov-id 19. See here. gofundme.com/f/sommelier-eme… Inspiration for @MasterSommWW @UKSommeliers @UKsommelier to look at something similar in UK?

Imagine Johnson in charge at Dunkirk. “We recommend that you retreat to the beach and await rescue, but it isn’t an order, and we won’t provide any covering fire. Tomorrow I will be updating you on the boats.”

We didn’t transfer our powers to Brussels. We carried our powers to Brussels, and used them there, for the good of all Europe, for nearly half a century. Now this era of contribution has come needlessly to an end. I’m angry. And heartbroken. #LoveEU

The reckless B Johnson leaving it to others to agonise and then decide what to do...the UK had the potential benefit of advance warning about the virus but the great misfortune of being led by a Prime Minister hopelessly out of his depth.

We owe a profound debt of gratitude to all our health professionals and everybody who’ll be on the front lines of this pandemic for a long while. They’re giving everything. May we all model our own behavior on their selflessness and sacrifice as we help each other through this.
My spouse is a physician in the emergency dept, and is actively treating #coronavirus patients. We just made the difficult decision for him to isolate & move into our garage apartment for the foreseeable future as he continues to treat patients. (1/5)

During Gov briefings am I the only one thinking ‘where are all the women?’ Why are there no senior women in the “war cabinet” or used to convey those critical messages? Equality means better decisions. Don’t pack the women away during a crisis.
