20 years ago Steve Gleason blocked a punt against the Falcons and changed the course of Saints history. Current Saints players were too young to be there, but they carry on the rivalry, and understand what that meant, two decades after that special night:

18 yards rushing?! Even Tyler Shough can't save Saints as run game falls to new low espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/5028…

Saints center Erik McCoy said the run game struggles are putting too much pressure on Tyler Shough "to do everything" ... and the results follow: ‘I think Tyler is a baller. I think he is the future of this franchise, and I just feel like we put a lot of pressure on him today, and that’s not fair to him.”

Some things I'd like to see after the bye week for #Saints
-Bigger personnel 13/12/22 to get the running
game going
-More blitzes and man pressure defensively
-Find way to keep #7 Sanker on the field every play. He's a football player and can help at safety in regular personnel

Tyler Shough said he took a hit to his throwing hand during the game but it was just some pain, nothing significant that impacted his performance.

The Saints could not establish the run game in Paris, averaging just 1.06 yards per rush.
QB Tyler Shough was their leading rusher with just 7 yards. The Saints are the first team without a 10-yard rusher in a game since the Bucs in Week 4 of the 2022 season. 😬
Kellen Moore said "it's fair to evaluate that," when asked about the kicking issues all season/possible changes. Said the other team came in at the same timeline as Carlson, so... when asked if that was a factor in the miss.
Kellen Moore said "he's not going to jump into anything right now," and "we've just got to get better," when asked about any possible staff changes. He said they'd evaluate everything.
From ESPN Research: The Saints are the first team without a 10-yard rusher in a game since the Buccaneers against the Chiefs in 2022. It's the 3rd time in Saints history that the team has not had a 10-yard rusher in a game. Other times were in 1993 and 1980.
ESPN Research sent this stat with 2:55 remaining, but the Saints never got the ball back after they punted at the 6:02 mark: The Saints have 18 rushing yards, which would be their fewest in a game since Dec. 19, 1999 at the Ravens (11 yards)

Saints are 28th in rushing success rate and 32nd in rushing success rate allowed. Just nothing happening on the ground on either side of the ball for New Orleans.
The Saints will have a long plane ride home as they head into their bye. Maybe they'll get some offensive help with players returning on the other side, but the issue is that they make the same mistakes over and over. The bye doesn't magically fix that.
I think the bye week moving forward is going to be really good for Tyler Shough to try to heal his hand (hands maybe?) but the coaches need to be trying to figure out every possible way they can fix this run game. With the exception of two games, it's been terrible all season.
42-year-old Aaron Rodgers just picked up more rushing yards on one play (8) than Alvin Kamara or Kendre Miller have this game.
