(2/3) We used the safety continuum to explore how fear shapes the experiences of people in Shinyanga. For women & children, situations without choice & control, like early marriages, trigger feelings of unsafety, leading to ongoing stress unease, often unspoken but deeply felt.

(1/3) Safety isn't just a binary concept, it’s a spectrum. But what triggers us to feel unsafe? When life's challenges surpass our physiological limits, we enter our "unsafe" zone. However, with CHOICE, CONTROL & TIME LIMIT, we can take risks while keeping that safety net intact.

Fear inhibits our inner power. Men's fear of losing control fuels anger and violence. Women and children’s fear of the patriarchal systems limits their potential for growth. My research with @C4CEastAfrica and @WomenFund_TZ unveils this cycle of fear 👉 bit.ly/3Dzfm7U.

Tradition finds comfort in patriarchal norms, which shape who we are. Yet, questioning these norms unveils a complex divide. Challenging hierarchies can be tough, but as we pursue progress, let's foster diverse conversations with empathy. 🗣️ @C4CEastAfrica #SocialAcceptance

What makes a 'good man'? In Shinyanga 🇹🇿 it's about financial stability, family support & authority. But should dominance & violence be the norm? My research w/ @C4CEastAfrica & @WomenFund_TZ sheds light on challenging perceptions: bit.ly/3Dzfm7U #SocialAcceptance

Adhering to social norms ensures acceptance. But is it okay to deviate? My research w/ @C4CEastAfrica & @WomenFund_TZ in Shinyanga, TZ shows young people, women & progressive men challenging patriarchal beliefs but many still hold onto old norms. 🔗 bit.ly/3Dzfm7U
