So impressed with the #courage and #eloquence of these two @PriorPark students who spoke in Friday's #neurodiversity assembly. They were passionate advocates for the type of education that we offer here at Prior Park - truly #inclusive and #caring.

I only just got round to this, but it's excellent. Raises some serious questions for me. I'm not in leadership anymore, but work with a lot of leaders, and I've felt that dip in performance personally. A short term drop can lead to long term performance.
Very thought provoking.

I’ve written a blogpost here about teaching pupils with SEND and the problems of ‘additional to or different from’. All feedback welcome, please retweet generously! sendmatters.co.uk/2022/12/20…
Sometimes it *is* what you do not (just) the way that you do it.
Glad I teach Physics though, extra practice/assessment is easier to implement than extra and better peer interaction.
How does time spent in direction instruction vs peer interaction vs practice/assessment impact learning? And does the answer differ by subject?
@profsimonb et al analysed the performance and data from 250+ teachers to answer these Qs.
Here's what they found:

I did some work with MAT-wide SLT today on how to improve Teaching and Learning. One of the big themes was about designing T&L programmes around actual needs, rather than cool and trendy things.
What do I mean by this?

Only took 8 years to get to a sensible place on differentiation. So glad that @Ofstednews has smashed through the nonsense around differentiation.

Annoyed with a 'slippery' smart pupil? Assume incompetence before malice. Some pupils will never get assessed, forever almost muddling through (or not).
I worry about the 56%. For me a test is the best option because:
- we aren't able to see our own blind spots/biases
- most of us see ourselves as above average (@TeacherTapp had some stats on that too)
- GCSE/A-level predictions are notoriously inaccurate

At home with COVID and just supervised my eldest on a Punctuation & Grammar assessment. Made me wonder if there's a TTRockstars style app for it? #PrimaryEnglish
Don't get me wrong, he did fine - just not as well as if COVID never happened.
