Exactly this. Many say “yes” to a pollster because they assume if the SNP is pushing for a referendum, all the difficult questions must have been worked out. These soft yes voters would be appalled to discover the SNP in fact has no answers, which is what a campaign would expose.

You have more to say about Gaza than about inflammable gas leaking in ferries for which you have responsibility. Why?
They deserve to look back on their inaction in the face of the genocide in Gaza, and ethnic cleansing in the West Bank, by Israeli forces in absolute horror and shame. Just as they deserve credit for finally finding the courage, today, to say and do the right thing.

Still waiting for her to post anything on the SNP’s disastrous education results. The ‘greens’ are just a pathetic wing of the rancid SNP.
We have already endured far too many years of obstruction, hurdles and political games from UK governments. It has gone on for far too long. The Scottish Parliament should have the power to trigger that referendum!

Rowling has a proven track record of fuelling campaigns of abuse against trans people and allies who criticise her transphobia or support trans rights. As with this post, she misrepresents people’s motives & views, deliberately twisting them into something sinister, even criminal
I see that Stella Creasy is accusing me of leading a pitchfork mob against her, because I opined that she is less likeable and more hypocritical than the wild parakeet she mistook for an escaped pet. For those who don’t know, Creasy is an elected politician and self-proclaimed ‘old-fashioned feminist’ who is ‘still fighting the patriarchy’. She’s more than once publicly defined herself against me (and my reaction was not to accuse her of leading a mob, even though I was probably averaging a dozen death threats a day at the point when the article below appeared.) I thought it might be instructive for those of us who don’t share Creasy’s brand of ‘feminism’ to examine her campaigning record, so we can learn to do better. Creasy wants women admitted to the male-only, exclusive, London-based private members Garrick Club, a change that would benefit rather privileged women like Creasy. Creasy is a mother who wants better accommodations for working mothers, a change that would benefit Creasy. Creasy takes selfies at a men-only Muslim march because that reminds everyone how non-racist she is, which benefits Creasy. Creasy asserts that ‘trans women are women’, which keeps her in good odour with her party’s most aggressive activists, and benefits Creasy. However, keeping cross-dressing heterosexual men out of nurses’ changing rooms doesn’t benefit Creasy, because Creasy has never had to mop up other people’s piss, blood and vomit at work. Challenging the notion that a male basketball player becomes a girl if he says he is doesn’t benefit Creasy, who has no sporting ambitions. Speaking up against the patriarchy as practised by non-white men doesn’t benefit Creasy, who wants those selfie-opportunities. Criticising an ideological movement that persecutes, harasses and openly threatens women who don’t believe some women have penises wouldn't benefit Creasy, because she's already fully-signed up to self-id, where any man who says he's a woman must be taken at his word. As the late Gloria Steinem said: ‘“Feminism has never been about getting a job for one woman. It's about making life more fair for women everywhere.’ Creasy the patriarchy-challenger is provably more than happy to cosy up to men and misogynist movements when it suits her public profile and career advancement, no matter the harms those men might be causing less privileged women. By Steinem’s definition, what Stella espouses is not feminism, but Creasyism, and I suggest the emblem for this brave new rights movement should be an indignant parakeet with severely ruffled feathers. telegraph.co.uk/women/life/s…

Yet another triumph for devolution: Scottish schools were 12th in the world in 2000. They are now 28th. Thanks Holyrood.
There’s not much to be said for almost 30 years of devolution but it has allowed for a massive real-time experiment in school systems. Starting with Thatcher, continued by Major, Blair and Brown, given huge boost under Cameron-Gove-Gibb, English schools saw major reforms — academies, free schools etc. Scottish schools stayed totally comprehensive under the dead hand of socialism/nationalism. No variety in state system. But lots more money. Ditto Welsh schools. Results are in and they couldn’t be clearer — English state schools have powered ahead, Scottish and Welsh schools have fallen back into mediocrity or worse. Scottish/Welsh pols too blinkered to learn the lessons so more decline beckons. What is unforgivable is that the current Labour government under two appalling education secretaries — Lucy Powell and Bridget Phillipson — want to roll back all the progress that’s been made in England to appease the hard-left teaching unions and the left-wing Blob.

Lose millions? Have a bonus. Mislead Parliament? Keep your job. Wreck public services? Demand more powers. The SNP has turned Scotland into an accountability-free zone. 👇

And the majority of Falkland Islanders today can trace their lineage back to Scottish immigrant farmers. It is absolutely disgusting that Ruth wants to sacrifice Islanders sovereignty for an anti-UK fan base and a few Twitter likes

Now you’re just lying , the Falklands economy more than supports them and the civil defence is £50-£65 million per year for the UK to maintain Mount Pleasant and Mare Harbour and Ascension

Scottish education is now being looked after by Màiri McAllan, Alyn Smith, and a spad who got the job on the basis of four years as an SNP events manager. What could possibly go wrong?

The SNP have made Scotland poorer, sicker and more divided — and Swinney’s grand solution is another referendum. Absolutely shameless.

The Sturgeon era may be over, but the SNP’s instinct to hide the evidence clearly is not. Scotland did not vote for a secret state run by press officers, lawyers and redacted emails.

Have you all seen that the SNP’s Investment Bank has just LOST £140 million ? That’s right £140,000,000. Lost. Now - just imagine they were managing your pensions and pension funds ! What a scary thought. Still think independence is a good idea ? Who votes for these nitwits ?
