A new standard for follow up colonoscopies! 📣📣 A positive noninvasive #colorectal cancer screening test signals that a follow up #colonoscopy is needed. But for too long, what happens after a positive result has gone largely untracked by the health care system. That's starting to change. The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) just released a new Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) quality measure holding health plans accountable, for the first time, for whether patients actually get a follow up colonoscopy after an abnormal screening test. #FightCRC helped shape this measure by serving on NCQA's Cancer Measurement Advisory Panel and pushing for years through state legislation to protect access to follow up colonoscopies. It's real progress, but not perfect. Read the full breakdown of what this measure does, where it falls short, and how your organization can get involved at fightcolorectalcancer.org/re…

Water 🥤 isn't just a form of matter — it's one of the ways the #AGAGastroSquad agrees we should care for our gut. Remember to grab that reusable bottle and fill it with water before you head out for an excursion this summer. Your gut will thank you!

Congratulations to Dr. Mills on being selected to attend the National Pancreas Foundation Fellows Symposium—a competitive program that brings together trainees from across the country to learn from world‑renowned pancreas experts. The symposium offers fellows the opportunity to: • Explore current approaches to early detection of pancreatic cancer and surgical options • Review indications, treatments, and complications of pancreatitis • Better understand genetic factors that influence pancreatic disease This symposium provides invaluable mentorship, education, and national networking for those committed to advancing care for patients with pancreatic disease. A well‑deserved recognition for Dr. Mills. #Pancreas #GIfellows #NPF #MedicalEducation #MayoClinic

Me with the future leader of Gastroenterology. I am so grateful to have been part of their developmental pathway.
So proud of this incredible group of early-career GI leaders who made #AGABestofFORWARD truly shine! 🌟 Every session was intentionally designed to build practical skills: 🔑 Grant writing & elevator pitch 🔑 Sources of funding (federal + non-federal) and negotiation 🔑 Conflict management & resilience Every participant submitted a Specific Aims page and actively practiced their pitch, fully leaning in and getting the most out of the program. Honored to have co-directed this with @BCryer and @SandraQuezadaMD, alongside Drs @MuyiwaAwoniyi2 and NicoletteRodriguez. Thank you @AmerGastroAssn! 💎
