Complex trauma,ACEs, growing up is experiencing ongoing events your brain & body were exposed to & weren't made for. Your body is in a constant fight, flight, or freeze. This means your nervous system is constantly dysregulated, stuck, and unable to emotionally develop

When our young people are communicatng stressed behaviour, we must Regulate, Relate, Reason in that sequence. We must not go straight for the cortex. Pupils cannot reason when their emotions are not regulated. 🧠🌱

Trauma that a young person experiences outside of school can greatly impact their behaviour and experiences in school.
Let's keep this in mind as we work with our young people who come into our educational establishments with full cups.🧠🌱
