So I now officially have my first publication (doi.org/10.1007/s40279-023-0…) under my belt and couldn't be happier that it is with @SportsMedicineJ.
Big thank you to my co-authors @simplysportssci and @LarsDonath as well as all the coaches who took part.

New paper out 📊
We surveyed 100+ Chinese coaches on the role of non-physical factors in training adaptation & performance
Key points:
☑️ NPF viewed as essential modifiers
☑️ Act as modulators shaping “how much” athletes improve
☑️ Not peripheral but central to outcomes
👇
☑️ Broad range of factors considered important
We need to move beyond linear, physical-centric models → towards culturally informed, configurational frameworks

📈It's been said that training adaptations are predictable.
📚Yet practitioners are rarely asked for their thoughts or experiences.
📝However, @simplysportssci @KlattStefanie @LarsDonath & I do want to know YOUR thoughts & experiences.

Had the pleasure of talking with Drew and Alex about my 2nd publication on sports coaches' views about popular planning practices. Really enjoyed talking to the both of them as it feels like grabbing a coffee and having a conversation with two friends.

It is with great sadness the family of John Pilger announce he died yesterday 30 December 2023 in London aged 84. His journalism and documentaries were celebrated around the world, but to his family he was simply the most amazing and loved Dad, Grandad and partner. Rest In Peace.
🆕 #OpenAccess Paper 🆕 New survey exploring coaches opinions on common planning concepts (as featured within training theory) now out in @SportsMedicineJ .
Thanks again so my great co-authors John Kiely (@simplysportssci) and Lars Donath (@LarsDonath) as well as all the coaches who were willing to take part.
