One of three Whinchats at Galloways (Dungeness) this morning was colour-ringed.
Metal BTO ring on right leg, and single long red ring on left.
Couldn't get close enough to read.

Three, possibly 4, purring Turtle Doves at site in SOUTH (KOS area). Location withheld to avoid unnecessary disturbance.

Kennardington Bridge to Crossing - 4/5 Turtle Doves purring, 1 Nightingale, 3 Cetti's. Also 1 Downy Emerald (no camera Arrgh). @KentishPlover
Went over to Conningbrook Lakes CP, Ashford, to see the two Russian White-fronts. Nice birds.
However, there was a group of Shooters in the field over the river. Watched one shoot a Cormorant out of the sky. Challenged him about the legality of what he had done.
Tried calling police but after 20 minutes gave up. Got stuck in a loop asking me if I really needed the police, and if I wanted to report a crime to go to Kent Police Web site.
I'm in the middle of nowhere.
Useless, and God knows if they shot any more, or even the WFG's.
Fortunately was only another hour until dark.
Is there a direct line, that works, for the Kent Police Wildlife Protection team?? Are the even interested??
